If you're looking to tighten or build your core, definitely give barre a try! It's toning- and strength-based but you're burning a lot of calories with the incorporation of weights and non-stop movement.

Highlights include:

- You go at your own pace. I have relatively weak, noodle-y arms and started out with 2 lb. weights. The studio has an extensive collection so you could grab multiple sets of various weights, bring them to your mat and switch them as needed according to the exercise. The vibes are comfortable and motivating!

- The workout hits all your major muscle groups with quite some variation. You are engaged the whole time and will definitely feel it everywhere the next two days. It has also increased my flexibility!

- Spacious, clean studio + informative instruction + great playlist

Tip: wear grippy socks! You'll be working largely on the mat, but if you're taller than the mat like me, some exercises are more difficult without grippy socks.

Parking: plentiful, safe street parking along Huntington Drive.
