So far so good. I started my first week, people are very nice and accommodating. Professor Roger is pretty good explaining techniques and patient with newbies. The only con I think with this gym is that it is kinda small since the number of students are growing.
Professor Roger Machado is very welcoming and an excellent teacher. He explains things well and takes the time to work with every student on an individual basis, no matter what the level of experience is. He really cares and is there to help, the camaraderie within the academy is a reflection of Roger's style of teaching. I couldn't imagine learning jiu jitsu from a better teacher!
As a senor citizen, this is the ideal martial art to learn. Professor Roger Machado goes out of his way to make Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to be enjoyable as beneficial in the academy's friendly environment. Respect and Safety are just as important in the art as being competitive. The RCJ Machado Academy isn't just a martial art academy, it becomes a lifestyle of positive growth. I have been training here for about a year or so and I really love it. Everyone in the academy is skilled and more than willing to teach you if you are having a hard time. Roger Machado himself is an amazing teacher and very keen on details when a person is developing there jiu jitsu. He is a great man personality wise and as a jiu jitsu teacher he is nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend the academy to anyone who wants to learn BJJ in a fun and safe enviorment without a bunch of meat heads pushing you around. You will be amazed at the level of respect we all have for one another and how rapidly you develop.
