I have gotten stronger, lost weight and the definition in my muscles is visible. I have also increased my endurance and my metabolism has increased. Mike and Trey have created this unique system when every time you go the work out is different. it is the fastest hour, and you never get bored.
I just want to commend Vanessa on awesome customer service and being very knowledgeable on any question that I had. I would say 5 stars, but Vanessa deserves 100 stars! Thank you so much, Vanessa! Amazing!!!!!!
I was traveling from an awesome event when I ran into this planet fitness and it is amazing. It is Sunday evening, so I do not know how busy it generally is. But is pretty mellow at this time. It has lots of machines, a headphones vending machine ( PF knows you are bound to forget them eventually lol). And two stories of workout equipment. Not sure how parking works here so that is the only potential negative I see about this place atm. Well, gotta get back to my work out =)
Great, but do they support every body type? Not so much. I think Planet Fitness gives out a lot of fattening food for everyone to snack on. I myself have a fast metabolism and am really slim, but my friend who's more on the heavy set side usually burns off calories and just eats them back up with the stuff Planet Fitness gives out. Trust me, it's tempting when there's 40 boxes of pizza in front of you. Other than that, great place! Huge!
I signed up last year in November. I've been going there a few times a week. It was great. I have more energy and strength. I lost alot of weight since then. The staff are pretty nice. The facility is pretty clean as well. I really like planet fitness. It's the best.
Not bad for a cheap gym membership. So far I have not had any bad experience. As I walk in I get to see someone attentive at the counter and greeted. None of the machine seem to be out of order. Clean floor, Halls, walls, equipment, neon decorative lights work and hope they keep it up. Restrooms are clean and is always great to see. Clean, none smelly air and is always fresh. Again not bad for a cheap membership gym. Entrances from both sides. Will continue to come and do my quick workouts.
Location is great. The machines are great. The size of the gym is great. The employees need to do better. Either they are invading your personal space, not valuing your time or the latest act, handling his business on the phone while on the floor in uniform. It's so hard to concentrate when you're discussing your paycheck right in front of me. Left pictures if you want to see what this looks like. I have very low expectations of their customer service.
I am a Black Card member so my home location for Planet Fitness is in Saint Charles Illinois. I have been utilizing the Downtown Los Angeles location since I am residing near here now. I was visiting this location for about 10 weeks regularly before one of the attendants informed me that my membership only allows me up to TEN visits per month at any location outside my home location. I was definitely not aware of my limits because I did not ask. I had always assumed I would return to Illinois. But since I have not, I need to change my home location.
Because of the TEN visits per month, I had the opportunity to visit two other Planet Fitness location aware of the TEN visit limits. The Downtown Los Angeles location is not in the usual strip mall setting but is located in an older building occupying the first floor and lower level which is the basement. You have to check in at the counter on the street level before having access to the lower level. There are two entrances; one on Hill Street which closes at 9pm and the other entrance on Broadway Street which stays open 24 hours a day. The lower level can be accessed by elevator located by the Hill Street entrance or by a staircase in the middle of the first floor. Black Card members can enjoy their perks on the first floor but the free weights, restrooms and lockers are located on the lower level. Considering the club is divided as such, I often see people carrying one small bag with them from machine to machine which technically is not allowed. I have also observed that this location does not have the large industrial fans hanging from the ceiling nor does the equipment come with individual fans atyached. Instead, each machine has an individual television monitor attached thus eliminating the center television monitors found in other clubs. I am spoiled to the floor layout of equipment and supportive areas you can find in other Planet Fitness shopping strip locations. The downtown L.A. location is desirable to me because it is within 5 minutes walking distance so I do not carry a lot of stuff nor do I need to shower. I have used the restroom toilet and found the place not as clean as I would have liked. There are plenty of cardiovascular machines both upstairs and downstairs. The machines with corded weights are located on the first floor. I spend all of my time on the first floor leaving the younger crowd and/or healthier people to utilize the lower level.
Sure, you want to get fit! The fear is setting in from the old bones, the juddering joints, the gentle charming wobble is descending into a garish plod. It's happening to me, it's happening to all of us and instead of sitting around miserably watching the decay and miserable chaos I decided to spend my time running on the spot like a hamster or lifting things and putting them down again like a madman. Am I saying planet fitness turns you into a madman hamster? In a way yes. But that's not the point it's better to be a madman hamster than a decrepit lazybones reaching for the chicken and gulping on the bucket of fizzy pop! Sure the end is the same for everyone but if you want to feel good for a low price surrounded by reasonable people I'd recommend this place.

Lots of machines. Two floors. Very little staff. Has showers and a restroom with a locker room. The big down side is parking is not available in a lot. It's at your convenience in the streets.

2 floor. Many appliances. Great shower. Convenient. But Only Flat hydromassage.
Great place and location to work out. It's clean and never too crowded. The manager and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
There are ample machines to workout on, both upstairs and downstairs. The staff is extremely supportive and friendly. It is open 24 hours. I find early mornings(7am or so) work well. The first Monday night of the month is pizza night and the second Tuesday morning is bagel day. Membership is affordable as well.

It's low cost gym solution. Not for bodybuilding. You gotta improvise for getting your squats and deadlifts done. Dumbells till 75 pounds and lots of machines.
There are many planet fitnesses in LA and while this one has mostly working equipment and offers free eye protection for tanning, the outside almost always smells like urine due to the large homeless population that is the nature of downtown Los Angeles. The hydromassage beds only work half of the time and while that may not be the main incentive for me to go to the gym, feeling let down after a long work out because a machine was not properly maintained is not exactly the goal here.
Great Prices. Spacious, Machines are available.
It is hard to find parking and it is expensive as well. It is DTLA after all but place is empty in the AM which is good. :)
Love this place,I come here often, about 3-4 times a week, I never had problem with the staff, I always get greeted when I walk in and the place is pretty clean in my perspective.

I love this place. I love how the black card allows entrance into any branch. It's clean for the most part. You would figure they would have more than 2 massage beds or chairs. Thats like there being 150 people ready for check out at walmart but 2 registers are open. Come on now.
Big gym, it's better at night when it's less crowded. You see a lot of people just sitting in the machines and not using them. Staff should clean and restock the restrooms.
Just another days at PF DTLA, all the free weights are taken and most of them are being hoarded. Seems like a lot of ppl like to take two to three sets, and no one wants to share.
Homeless people galore. They take up the showers and massage chairs. Not only that but I've seen fights break out and staff just stand there and allow it to happen. Besides that, there's no parking, very small and limited and crowded with perverted guys you definitely don't want hitting on you. They stare and stare and it's beyond creepy.staff will role their eyes if you complain and ignore you.its cheap for a reason and definitely not a safe place for women. They allow transgenders in the women's restroom and they walk around naked . really?!! WTH!!

Planet Fitness is a good place to lose weight it's got a a particular price of $10 a month for membership the gym is in downtown a very convenient walk for residence who live near
You are NEVER in need of an aerobic bike or treadmill or stepper as the gym has soooo many. I would give it 5 stars if they had a boxing bag. great staff great hours. great location for me
Very big space and new equipment. Can be busy in the evenings but can't beat the monthly fees. The staff is also very friendly. I wish other visitors would be more consistent with wiping the machines down. Signs might help?! Not a hip crowd but it serves my purpose.

I never had problem with the staff, I always get greeted when I walk in and the place is pretty clean in my perspective. Well worth the price you pay. I'm a "black card" member and the massage beds/chairs make it so worth it.
My bf and I used to come here to workout. The gyms overall nice with helpful and friendly staff. The gyms afforable with 2 typed of memberships $10 for regular and the $20 for the black card members you get access to the tanning booths and massage beds and plus you get to invite a guest. The gym has lockers and showers but no towels so you need to bring your own. The problem of this gym is it gets to packed especially during 4-5pm equipment here gets taken up like no tomorrow so if you see a workout station open take it.
FOOD NETWORK runs 24 hours on the TV in this gym. WHAT are they thinking??!! For over two weeks I've requested that they switch the channel or at least randomly display various channels, but neither the gym manager, neither any of the staff did anything about it.
So buyer beware, this gym's customer service us seriously lacking (although they have a couple of good people too).
Secondly, how committed is this gym to help its customers achieve their fitness goals if they keep presenting on and on and on cooking recipes, cooking contests, food, food, FOOD over and over?
Very bad, very disrespectful to people that try to reach their fitness goals.
However, if on the other side you try becoming a chef, join this gym, by all means. Seems they have a knack for cooking and everything culinary...
I was a former member at this gym until they displayed to me how they feel towards white people.
They are very racist, rude and disrespectful.
They'll intimidate you and let you know that you're not welcomed there.
What I've experienced from the staff at this gym will not be forgotten.
I wish the employee's at this store location the best of luck.
As far as any future member's are concerned, I wouldn't go here.
Not because of the staff, but because there's nothing there. It's a very small gym that gives you no space to work out.
I would recommend:
L.A. FITNESS
Y.M.C.A.
GOLDS GYM
BASICALLY ANYWHERE BUT THIS PLACE!
