I have finally joined the Y after living in the area for the last 4 months. One of my neighbors goes there twice a day. She walks with her 4 year old there and she looks amazing! She spoke so highly of the instructors and facility, I decided that I would stop procrastinating and go for it! The facility is HUGE. I was shocked to see it was so bust between 9 and 10 am but, everyone there seemed happy and pleasant in passing. The staff was friendly and great in helping me get my membership the same day! They are currently running a special where their membership fee is only $1 through the month of September, I lucked up!
Very busy after around 4 or 5 on weekdays; weekends and mornings, however, are great. It's frankly very minimally stocked--maybe the least so of any of the gyms I've been to in LA--but the folks are lovely, facilities are clean, and if you go at the right times (i.e., not any time after 5p), it's a solid option.
Not a family friendly place. specially the main pool where you can either walk only or swim like a fish. Regular swimmers ( family) have no place and are pushed around by rude teenagers lifeguards.
Good place difference from other Y's is the ping- pong tables they have. Jacuzzi is warm so kids can get in. And no steam room.

Life Guards are rude and the machines don't work half the time. The pool is dirty and is way to overcrowded. This location needs better system for the pool. The people who go to the pool are also really rude. They walk in the fast lane and just stop in the middle. Fix this please.

This place is exactly what it titles itself, it is a family gym. Most often than not, you stumble upon teens and elderly. It's weight room is relatively small, but it gets the job done for the average gym go-er. I used to go here in high school, and in summer I got into their summer teen program and got a membership for free. If you join their program it's 10$ during the school days but if you don't it's 25$. I would consider this an okay gym not amazing, not great, but it's what a gym is for.

Sooooo to be clear this is a GREAT YMCA.
But when I visited with a wheelchair user, it became clear that the facility's accessibility is at best flawed.
The chair-lift's for the poole is rusted and not working.
its hard to access the accessible showers because the mats on the floor bunch up under the power-wheelchair.
Its not possible for the user to sit on all of the accessible bench because a shelf have been installed which covers part of the bench.
Its also complicated for the wheelchair user to drive the chair away from the shower because that will push it under another shower where another guest got the power-chair soaked, the chair is made for rain, but still.
Finally. complicated to access ADA parking spots when guests literally park behind the disability parking spots blocking the parked cars from leaving.
Currently the facility can't be recommended for wheelchair users who depend on a lift to enter-exit water, or a power-chair in the showers. BUT if you can walk-crawl or any other way get yourself from chair to water, its a fine facility.
The staff said they will get the chairs fixed and I will update review when that happens.

Very nice gym. But I wish parking is free for members. And gym is too crowd. Not easy to find a spot.
The staff is very friendly and the facility is always well kept. Parking is available and adjacent to the YMCA. Family friendly too.
Love this gym it's like 2nd home and people are so friendly and helpful
Favorite YMCA because it offers Zumba everyday including Saturday and Sunday. Alfredo fas a massive following so get there early to get a ticket for the class otherwise you will be disappointed!! My little one prefers the training pool because you can walk down the steps!!!
This Y has so many great classes. The staff and instructors are awesome. It does get pretty busy at times and will need a wristband for popular classes. One big plus is the free childcare.
Well maintained gym and trained instructors to help n guide new comers to meet the goals on fitness. Group classes are fun. I have attended zumba, Pilates, abs workout group classes. My favourite is swimming n I must say the instructors are pretty good in their skills n they encourage you to get through your learning curve well. Swimming pool is maintained clean.
Great place to exercise. Only missing is a steam room.
Roxy Reyes is an awesome instructor with the kids during the swim lessons , if you have toddlers and older kids she's the one to ask for and suti as well he is sweet and is calm as a clam. The swim staff is beyond amazing here and guards are always on top of it ! The swim director has done a great job of hiring and training !!

The room with all the treadmills, bikes etc is always packed. Classes are a first come first serve basis so get there early. Clean area. My only issue is that it is small because ktown is overpopulated...
Love the gym! It has a nice atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. They offer a huge variety of classes and they're fun too! A very clean place with great equipment and cheap parking (first 3 hours for 1$ IF you validate your ticket)
Great gym. The members keep it clean. The staff keep it maintained, sometimes slow to get it done. Fun classes, too. Sometimes classes are too catered for older female members.
This YMCA is one of the newer locations. It does cost to park in the lot and they have non operable hair dryers in the locker room or I would give 5 stars
