Their receptionist Meg is incredibly rude and unhelpful. I requested the price of a once a week adult class for for Wing Chun and was told I could not have the information. No matter how many details I provided about what I would like, which was pretty basic stuff, she was very smarmy and rude and refused to provide the information. Maybe the school is better but I certainly won't be checking it out now.
I began training at California Academy of Martial Arts in 2010, and have been training there ever since. One of the best things about the school is the fact that Sifu Tei is always there teaching classes personally; which for me, is very important in a martial arts school. Sifu Tei is very approachable and is always willing to answer your questions about kung fu. I never thought kung fu would be so integrated and a part of my life, but through the years of my training there, my fellow students and Sifu Tei have all become like my family to me. Classes are 7 days a week, which is awesome for someone like me who works full time. I absolutely love wing chun and its practicality, and I highly recommend California Academy of Martial Arts for anyone who wants to learn real authentic kung fu!
I think the lessons here are great. But they are not for the wimpy. They will work you out and make you sweat. No slacking here. Me likes!
California Academy of Martial Arts is an amazing school. I can honestly say this place changed my outlook in life. I was overweight with little motivation or hobby to come by. I have been attending C.A.M.A for over 3 years now and I can NEVER get enough. The teachers, students and staff are Always so Positive and welcoming. I have met many great people and made many new friends along the way. I've had the priveledge of participating with the school's Demo Team as well in the other school activities. It is always a great experience at C.A.M.A. Thank you Sifu Tei and Sifu Nancy for being great role models and for sharing your skills and knowledge of such a great art to help improve my own.
Stay away! They'll be really nice at first just to lure you in but once you're locked in with their contract, they show their true colors. ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY!
