Mark was one of this hotel's crews. He was very accommodating, helpful, and effective for his assigned jobs. The quality of service He provided was deeply brilliant for me. He strives to provide us the best service that exceeds our expectations. It was a nice experience for me for the first time. Superior hotel service!
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBully. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!
Great hotel. Staff is is super friendly and helpful. Lobby is a fun eclectic mix of games, grouped sitting areas, and eye catching kitsch. The bed was very comfy and our room was very clean.
So hip! Very elegant interiors and nice music. You can tell they know the trend. They check ID but there was no cover when i went. Ground floor was more like a bar and basement was more like a lounge/club. There were good amount of people and it was so fun!
Review for restaurant only. Fantastic experience. The price point was a great value for the great service and delicious food we got! I love the funky hotel. We first went to mamas shelter in Serbia and were so happy to find it here in Hollywood. We were not disappointed. The theme and feel is the same funky vibe that we loved. Would highly recommend checking out the rooftop bar for some great views. For the food- Kale lollipop is worth a try, artisan bread was delicious and both pasta with homemade ricotta and Chinese inspired chicken were all cooked to perfection. A nice treat I would enjoy again!
Fantastic customer service!!! Everything was perfect at this great rooftop venue, despite being so busy!! (Labor day weekend) We were sat quickly, the servers, the host and the food runners were all working as a team so the service was excellent. The food was fresh and delicious... The crab cakes are to die for. I can't wait to return and bring more friends!

Pretty busy place on weekends. The view on the roof is amazing. Worth it for the view. On the roof, you can either order from the bar and go to the community giant lounge chairs or get a table.
Be warned on busy nights there's a wait to get up to the roof (versus sitting at the restaurant downstairs), then another wait for a table if you don't have a reservation. I'd make a reservation if you want upstairs table service for food/drinks.
Mainly they need to do a better job of training hosts and staff regarding communication of what the protocol is, availability of tables, what's the expected wait experience to get on the roof, get food etc.
We were told there was a 30 min wait to get up to the roof for food and drinks so we got drinks at the downstairs bar and waited. Then we saw other people getting upstairs that came after us, so we asked the host (security?) and they said we couldn't bring the drinks upstairs if we wanted to go now. Okay....??? When we finally get to the roof after drinking the drinks quickly cause we were starving. We're not exactly greeted warmly (basically ignored) there's another wait for tables - fine it's busy.... But this all could have been communicated better. On a high note the roof bartender was super friendly but that was the only love we felt that night from staff.
But that being said food and drinks were great, food came out in good time, the burger was incredible, truffle fries totally worth the splurge, lounge chairs comfy AF... And that view, simply amazing.
I like this place because of their unique concept and set up. The restaurant is placed in a very nice atmosphere with its nice designs. Everyone who gets to visit this place has been so lucky and I am one of them. The foods as well are very delicious and so are their drinks. The staff are very entertaining and will really attend to their customer's needs.
Love the hotel! Very unique and original. Clean, quiet, very very friendly staff and helpful. There is a rooftop bar restaurant w great views of the city and the restaurant downstairs in lobby is also nice. Will stay here again when i come back to LA.
Super hip Hotel with the best and most comfortable bed i ever slept in. All the Stuff are so nice and friendly and the rooftop is also a thing of beauty with a wonderful view. When i am in LA again i would not go to another Hotel even when its a 5 Star luxus Hotel. Its really a place to be, even the locals love the restaurant and the rooftop. I loved every bit of my stay!
I love Mama Shelter. The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly. My friend and I love to go during the day and eat on the rooftop when it's open and pretend to be rich business start up owners and order fancy drinks.
I had a great time from top to bottom. I arrived with a friend who desperately had to use the restroom. When we entered the building, we we immediately greeted with warm smiles and positive energy. They quickly directed my friend to the restroom and then turned to me and asked if we were there to eat in the restaurant, stay in the hotel, or drink on the rooftop. What a great place! Everybody was super friendly. When we got up to the roof, we greeted again and given the option to sit at a table, chill at the bar or sit on the comfy couches. The bar took it orders and made our drinks, we chilled on the couches and had a great time. When we left, we were thanked for visiting. I will definitely be back!

We came here for happy hour where they had great deals on drinks and small bites that are great for sharing. We were not able to go to the roof top as there was a long wait and the place was packed. Be sure to put your name in early if you want to go to the roof. The ground floor was still really cool though. They had the biggest foosball table I've ever seen and there was a group of about 10 playing (5 on each side). Great crowd too.
I was excited to come here( rooftop) for the first time. We got there before the crowd came(around 11am Saturday), had a good early lunch and some drinks. Our waiter was great, food was good, rooftop atmosphere was chill.
So why the 1 star? The a**hole bouncer downstairs. We had a friend meet up with us for lunch, but by the time he got there, it was a 30 min wait. We asked our very kind waiter if he can join our table. Waiter said yes to just let the guy at the door know. When we did that, the guy was a complete d***. If our friend had to wait, we understand. But don't be a compete a**hole about it. What hurt the most is we dropped alot of money on lunch and were about to drop some more.
Beware of the floor of the roof!! Last week I visited Mama Shelter with a friend. We were sitting on stools near the back and my phone slipped out of my hand and fell straight between two wood slats - underneath the roof. Why the flooring is situated so the wood panels are wide enough for a phone to fall through continues to boggle me. We immediately found management to explain what happened, they took our information, told us not to worry and that the engineer would be able to get the phone out the next day and to call in the morning. With the help of my friend, we called first thing the next morning.
Strike 1: Turns out, the front desk had not been informed of the situation - management hadn't passed along what happened despite promising to to do s. The man I spoke with then called the engineer who told him he did not have time in his schedule to deal with it until the following day, which would mean two days sans phone. So I drove over to the hotel to speak directly to them. I was then told they would need a second engineer (who arrives in a few hours) to get the phone out, but I would definitely have it by late afternoon. I left and went back home.
Strike 2: The hotel calls my friend shortly after to tell them they will not be able to get the phone out after all because "we can't reach it" and to relay the information to me. They offered no help in the least, nor did they offer to speak to me directly when my friend said that excuse was unacceptable. I then drive back to the hotel for the second time.
Strike 3: At this point, I am informed that no, they can not get the phone out (despite having told me several times over the course of the two days "this happens all the time!" which I still don't understand why this is used as a supposed positive, your roof should not be set up so poorly that phones, credit cards and jewelry are often falling through it!) and that it was my fault for dropping it in the first place. Supposedly the phone had fallen under a spot in the roof they did not feel comfortable reaching because "there might be wires under there." I was then told if I wanted to pay to have a crew come lift off the roof, I was more than welcome to do so. At no point did anybody offer apologies, monetary compensation, efforts to fix the roof's flooring so this would happen again, etc. The attitude of this man was beyond cruel and condescending.
I used to be a regular visitor of Mama Shelter, but I will NEVER be returning and as my friends are aware of what happened, as well as the inexcusable customer service, they will choose another rooftop to visit too. Though the phone slipping out of my hands was indeed my fault, management's treatment of me and handling of the situation was absolutely horrific.
Great place for roof top views of Hollywood. You have to put your name on a waitlist to get to the roof, and happy hour is only on the bottom floor bar, not the roof. The food was not outstanding but not bad at all. A place you have to go at least once. Really great vibe.
Rooftop bar is amazing but they are only serving drinks... view is lovely... there are lots of heaters so if the weather is cold you won't feel cold... price are fair.
For foods you have to go to 1st floor.
One of the best rooftops in Hollywood, if not all of LA. Delicious cocktails, and decent food. This is a must visit place if you're stopping in Hollywood, or out for some fun. The rooftop is why you'd visit. The bar and restaurant downstairs are Ok, but there's better food to be found. This place packs up with a good crowd on almost any sunny afternoon.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Such a trendy brunch spot. Food is actually good, and the decor makes you fell like you're at your mom's house in tijuana. Very cozy yet young and fun. You'll love it
The woman at the front desk...I believe her name was Jacki...she was actually very informative of the whole process and made it very enticing to want to visit. I came by myself and she recommended I bring in a group of friends to have the ultimate experience. She even gave me a coupon for my next visit. I was so pleased just with the customer service aspect of the museum. I'm definitely coming back for these 3D paintings...such a different experience if you're looking for group fun.
Thanks again Jacki!!!
Went for happy hour and the atmosphere was fun and casual. The fries were good, but it was super busy so it was a little hard to get the attention of the bartenders as someone sitting at a side table. Was definitely a fun experience though!
Nice spot. Very spacious so groups can fit comfortably. I must say that the Calamari is AMAZING. Sure I was tipsy when I had the calamari but that had nothing to do with it. It was genuinely delicious.
I loved this hotel! Coming off a long 13-hour flight this place was just what I needed. The staff were super friendly, and although we couldn't check-in as soon as we arrived they were able to store our bags for us. I had breakfast downstairs and drinks on the rooftop and I thought everything was great! The room was super cute and the bed was soo soft. I stayed in the Mama Medium city view which was quiet and I had a lovely view of the Hollywood sign. Would 100% return again.
Went there for lunch at the rooftop bar. Food was really good. I had the steak and smoked salmon. The drinks were amazing. I enjoyed the environment it wasn't too packed. Service was more on the chill side. If you're in a hurry I don't recommend going there. The view was nice.
My partner and I recently got married and spent the evening at Hotel Vitale. I thought the experience from start to finish was superb. We stayed in a room with a stunningly beautiful view and were treated extremely well by all of the staff. It was a fantastic experience all around. Thank you for being part of our wedding memories!!

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...
I picked Mama's because it was close to the Hollywood Palladium. The reviews were great and they did not disappoint! The room was rad! I had drinks at the bar midday on Friday, excellent service! I had dinner Saturday and the Mary's chicken breast meal was excellent!
We stayed at Mama Shelter for two days and we had a great stay! We called the hotel for an early check in and the staff at the front desk was able to accommodate. They even ensured our room was ready to go and our scheduled champagne package was in the room. There were two people at the front at check-in time and both were really friendly through the process. I loved the fun decor in the lobby and throughout the hotel, neat and modern. Room was very clean and everything was in place and the scripts in the room were also fun to look at. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was really nice and took care of us very early in the morning. If you stay make sure you check out the roof top bar, the atmosphere is amazing! The drinks are pricey, but they are delicious and the views and service is worth the price. Also, the guy at the valet was very nice too! We went in and out of the hotel often and each time he assisted us with a smile. Over all I will make sure to stay here next time we are in a LA as the location was convenient too.

Mama Shelter is a cool spot. Would be better if they didn't make you wait to go up to the rooftop when hardly anyone is on the rooftop. And there's no background music which I find disturbing.
Terrific rooftop bar/restaurant. Great burgers, beers & new American fare. Kitty corner to a great vinyl store and live music venue. Right in the thick of Hollywood, but out of the Hollywood Blvd crush.
Food was pretty good. Service was polite. There's a beautiful young crowd here. The DJ was pretty good too.
Great atmosphere, and our waiter was THE man. Always there for us when we needed drinks or food, and quick to bring whatever we ordered. Had a party of 12 ppl and it was a great evening!
I recently quit my job and going to drink at the rooftop bar during the week day makes me feel so bougie. The drink was great but they didn't serve food up there on a Tuesday. We had to go downstairs to eat. Lunch was delicious. We ordered the protein power bowl. I highly recommend it!
Only came to visit the bar. It was a fun bar. Ground floor bar has a good amount of games and DJ paying great music. Rooftop was also very nice. Great decor, lots of cozy beds to sit on. Games and film screenings as well. Really like the vibe here. Gets very busy though so it was crowded and a long wait to get to the roof.
THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE ROOFTOP BAR ONLY.
I would like to give this place a five star rating because the space was so beautiful, the views were so great and the staff in the hotel lobby were so nice. However, I waited 30 minutes at the bar to order food and a drink and was never served. They are clearly understaffed and I cannot in good conscience recommend this bar to anyone.
The rooftop restaurant and bar space is beautiful. It's a great spot with 360 degree views of Hollywood. It attracts a hip and diverse crowd. I went for a drink and appetizers on a sunday late afternoon. Around us people were having birthday get togethers, work lunch, and just hanging out in the lounge area drinking. Very chill and causal space to have a good time with a group or have fun one on one. Service felt a bit slow as we had to flag down a server more than once. And an order of fries took quite a while to arrive. Overall, it's a great spot that I will be checking out again.
The atmosphere at mama's is amazing. The art on the ceiling is beautiful. Staff is very nice. They have a wonderful rooftop as well but at night you must have a reservation to see it. The food and drinks are expensive. Cocktails taste like medicine. The food is pretty good though. It can also get pretty crowded there. Overall, I love this place.
It was a very nice restaurant and rooftop - cute interior while also modern. My only critique is that I was told I'd be able to get in quickly, but ended up waiting an hour, so budget your time accordingly. Drinks were not cheap but I enjoyed the cocktails and the portions were generous. Great vibe on the rooftop deck.
