Staff and fellow LA Fitness- top notch. I appreciate customer service and people who smile. Check, check. It is legitimately a familial, community vibe. Just really good, genuine people all around.

Awesome gym if you're into bodybuilding; machines and free weights galore. However be careful with your belongings; was only there for a few days (holidaying LA) and had my locker broken into. Just carry your wallet and phone on ya

Has the basic workout machines you need, but I like to work out during big games, and the gym routinely has its TVs set to weird stations that nobody is watching. I asked that they switch at least one TV to the NFL playoff game (two weeks in a row), and they informed me they have corporate policy that prohibits them from changing channels. I don't know how they've decided that reruns of old sports games and news channels are what they're going to feature, as it seems unlikely anyone prefers that over live playoff games, but their employees are apparently incapable of consulting with management on this policy or exercising independent common sense. Worse still, their employee advised me that they have TV monitors on aerobic machines that can be changed, but in fact their aerobic machines don't have TV monitors (all TVs are on overhead).

Parking is tough..for this location to be in the heart of Hollywood, I'd expect better equipment and more updated amenities and fixtures. BUT you can still get a great workout on AND they validate!!

Great place to stay fit. Be aware of theft, my locker was broken in twice. The young female staff member on the weekend needs to be trained. Good meant hint to the management. Be aware: Last weekend 10 Minutes before closing the young female staff member from the front desk entered unannounced the mens locker room and pushes members in a disrespectful manner to hurry up. I saw her later leave with her girlfriend talking loud about going to a party. I have known LA Fitness for years and I know that disrespectful behavior like that is not the rule. LA Fitness is a nice outfit. But the manager at the Hollywood Blvd location needs to get her act together. Homeless people leave their stuff in the lockers over night. The employee from the front desk seems not to care nor does the manager. Maybe cooperate in Irvine will take notice.
In general I recommend LA Fitness highly.

It's very beautiful inside and all the mashines work great. I like to come here with my brother, who helps me to work out by correct way.

Be sure, that you know what to do or you have somebody to teach you, because the employees are not really competent to give useful advices.

They love money. If you ask for a class schedule, someone will try to sell personal training. They're very aggressive. I had to block them in my phone for a while. However it's a decent, low-cost gym. The locker room is a little weird because some people are always taking selfies even if someone is changing next to them. Usually the machines are working. The busiest times are during the day when no one in LA is working.

When you have had real trainers train you and when you work out here with LA fitness "trainers", it's a joke. They seem to not have enough trainers to staff all trainees. Their trainers' roster seems to be always changing, even the management level. Their LA fitness app has bugs. (It looks nice but it gets really annoying when your sessions that you scheduled get dropped randomly, despite the email confirmations you receive saying they have been scheduled). Today was the last straw. I scheduled my training session a week in advance and it was dropped today. I know because this occurred previously before and I called today to verify. Nope, was not on schedule. The management said they'll contact me at a later time to see if they could reschedule for today. Nope, still have not called. As soon as i get through these last trainer sessions (because i've already paid for them in advance), i'm done with LA fitness.

Their training program setup is a joke too. You don't have a dedicated trainer. Although this might sound good and LA fitness will say they're being "flexible", it's actually not good because when you are serious about working out and wanting to be stronger, the lack of commitment due to trainer rotation in the very least does not help. Not only that, you don't have a dedicated time slot. Once again, if you are looking to be stronger you would want LA fitness to dedicate a time slot to you as well. Nope, you are always constantly fighting with other people who are trying to schedule in a training session as well and sometimes that means you don't get a training session for that week. That really screws up a work out plan you may have had. They also give you a booklet to monitor your progression but that's a joke too. No one looks at it. I've stopped bringing it because it doesn't make sense to me! Why should I hold onto it if its the trainers who should be monitoring it!

There's only two positive notes i want to give:
1) there's a nice selection of equipment
2) I like one trainer who goes by Kent. Very friendly personality, but he's always booked.

I switched to this gym from 24 hr and it was ok with some more equipment. I was never really impressed with the service but I have been coming here for a year.
The gym just got all new equipment and finally updated. They didn't take out the lockers which could be nicer.
Today for the first time I got service from someone new at the desk staff it seems like there are new desk people. I asked if she could get the water to be more warm in the Jacuzzi and she said she could get someone to. I went back after my workout and it was warmer. It's almost the first time anyone at that gym tried to do service for people from what I've seen.
The biggest issue for me now is if the pool keeps closing all the time for weeks at a time and taking a long time to fix equipment but it's all new so this is great for now.

The only reason I'm giving it a 1 Star is because of their crappy way of informing costumers about their policies that are direct and easy to comprehend. DO NOT, under any circumstances, sign up for the personal training they offer. It's a freaking scam. While the personal trainers themselves are fantastic and have demonstrated their desire to work one on one with their trainee, meet their needs and adjust, the way it works was just not worth my money. First off, I signed up for a personal trainer because I wanted to improve my fitness but I had told the guy in charge of personal fitness (Chris, who apparently doesn't work their anymore) that I was doing the LA Marathon and could not really comitt to a whole year because I was going to switch focus over to running. He said I could do the personal training for six months and to just talk to him when it came time so I can cancel the personal training service. SURPRISE! I found out that their is nothing he can do and I'm stuck paying for six months more than I had originally planned. I contact costumer service and they just send me an email basically stating that I committed to a full year which is DIFFERENT from what Chris had told me. Again, I was focusing on marathon training with some cross training, and thought, if I had no choice but to continue forking over my money I might as well use my PT sessions when I could. I finally reach the end of the EXTRA six months that I was tricked into having to pay with about 9-10 sessions left. Then March is marathon month and I was adjusting my fitness/diet to accommodate my less active life so I didn't want to use my PT sessions because I wanted to put my all, but with the LA Marathon so close, I wasn't gonna jeopardize months of training. A week after the marathon, I go to place a session with my PT to get me back at it. ANOTHER SURPRISE TO ME. All 9-10 of my sessions were just gone. IF I PAID for these sessions, shouldn't I be able to use them at my leisure depending on injuries or other fitness related recovery? AGAIN, DO NOT be fooled into their Personal Training programs because they just want a reason to take your money. I really liked both of my personal trainers and had been thinking about doing it again, but after this bad interaction with corporate costumer service and their complete lack of empathy, I'd rather go out and seek a private personal trainer.

The welcome desk staff is a nightmare to deal with. I walked out of the locker room to put my shoes on at the chairs by the front door and just about five steps from said chairs I get yelled to, "put your shoes on" twice. It was ridiculous. I was nowhere near any weight equipment barefoot and I was fully bathed. I would understand if I was grotesque or if I was being a hazard. Although I was not. These people need more coffee.

Lately the issue has been w the Jacuzzi which has been out about three weeks. No one seems to know when it will be back.
Now near late July still no word on the Jacuzzi. Its getting 90 s so the pool being open is nice but no Jacuzzi is not. Hopefully before the summer ends??
Well the pool opened first finally so I've been swimming every day almost now for maybe a month and half. Jacuzzi did work better and finally open. Sooo disappointed when I wanted to swim today and see it closed a week.
7/31 I believe the pool was supposed to be open other people wanted to swim too. It's 81 degrees says the pool is closed till 8/2. Been closed half the summer now.
It reached 86 today pool still closed. Not sure why they would even think this idea is ok and do this. The Jacuzzi is now back to before it worked a little better for maybe a week. It's almost like the month long close of the pool was for nothing. I mostly go here because it's nearby.
The closed the pool again. First saying it will be open on the 8th, then 12, then 18, now 20th. Somehow I don't know why will it really need open on the 20th come on!! Seriously guys
Something I already knew is wrong with this place. A week later they closed the Jacuzzi saying they put some solutions into it. It's been closed now at least 10 days most of the month. They didn't even know when. Does anyone wonder why they use somehing that makes it need to be closed 10 days?? It's probably easier to replace the water. It was still closed this week and they have no idea and do nothing. If it took that long I'd just replace the water seriously.

Crappy staff, you could hire a full time employee to walk around and find dumbells. It is incredibly frustrating. No one that attends this place or works at this place has any consideration for anyone but themselves. True LA fashion. Completely self absorbed. "My Personal agenda." That is the motto here.

This gym does not take your personal safety seriously.

I have been a LA Fitness member for over a year, and decided to try out this location. After a brutal leg day, I was surprised to find the elevator to the parking lot was shut down. It was 5 till close, and apparently this is standard policy. I started to climb down the two flights of concrete steps leading to the main floor. This was not ideal, as my legs had been worked to failure and it had rained this evening. After my first attempt to walk down the stairs, I almost busted my tailbone. The safety railing was slick with rain, and my hand almost completely slipped off. As a 30 year old male who hikes, it takes a lot for me to be concerned about safety, but I was.

After going back into the building, I requested to use the elevator. I explained my safety concern. The Tall African American gentleman told me it was not possible and I had to use the stairs. I restated that I was in real danger of injuring myself. He shrugged off my concern, and told me he could not help me.

Do not become a member of this gym. You will be asked to sign a liability waver, so that if you do hurt yourself due to staff callousness or negligence, you have no legal recompense. There are literally hundreds of Gyms in LA that actually care about you and your safety. This gym is not one. As soon as my prepared membership expires, I'm switching to a gym that actually cares about the safety of it's patrons.

Angelenos: you have been warned. You hurt yourself due to staff incompetence, it's on you. This location can't be bothered with your personal safety.

Nice gym its big and mostly clean but the parking Is getting out of hand
It should be validated but the workers there are crazy rude.

Just called to get info. Talked to an incredibly ill-informed woman at the front desk who couldn't muster up even the slightest enthusiasm for her job. When I asked for the cross street, she kept saying "Hollywood Blvd". When I asked if they were close to Burbank, she said yes. I just looked up the actual address. They are in Hollywood, which is NOT "close" to Burbank. She had no idea what the membership rates were. When I asked to speak with someone else, she claimed she was the only one there. How unfortunate. I completely lost interest in this chain as a result of that call. Please; staff your desk with people who can answer questions and WANT to answer questions. Really unimpressive.

TBH last 3 months I was a member of Bay Club Howard Hights which is just amazing. But moved here and was looking for closer one. Long story short compare to Golds gym, equinox and its quality and price I stopped on LA fitness. Primarily bc of squash, hot tub, 2 hour parking close to shopping center. And without that man, bodybuilding attitude as in gold's gym.

Nice location. 2.5 hour parking validation. Nice hot tub and pool. There can be some Hollywood types hung up on their own legend at times. Yoga classes are usually pretty full of nice actresses.

Worst exoerience ever! Came in to get a 5 day pass. Representive called me and was very helpful o er the phone and told me to come in any time to pick it up. Needless to say the rep wasnt there the day I decided to pick it up. I just got off work looming a little rough. Agents and front desk guy was judgemental from the start. One thing is i observed the front desk guy trying to get a agent to help and needless to say all he got was a no head shake and reps staring at me. Never judge a book by its cover. Now I am going to handle this a different way.

This gym is also so slow to fix stuff. Have seen a tag on something for more than three weeks still not fixed.
After more than a year of working out here the gym is trying to claim they are liable for bags on the floor and won't let people keep bags. A staff today actually came and asked to put mine at the desk. However at the time there were 20 other guys with bags and she didn't collect any other bags. I know it's not safe to leave bags in a locker so i refuse to do this a long time.

I finally asked a staff why no one knows she smartly replied its because there working on it. It seems dumb to me you would close the pool at the beginning of the summer especially when people are signing up. I decided to look in it and someone one person was painting it. The person had been taking so long they must be painting with a hand brush and not a roller. Its funny to me how there's no communication but not a surprise since management doesnt do much. I don't see how hard it is to tell someone you can only work for two more weeks or how much longer it will take. Yet they seem to think a reasonable thing to say is just they are working on it. Normally I might leave since I can swim a lot but there is an la one down the street also. I don't see how you close a pool amd have only one person painting.
The pool finally did reopen so going on a swim was nice today but still no Jacuzzi, why am I not surprised.
