Absolutely love this place. My wife and I have been members for about 10 months and we have nothing but positive praise to heap on the gym. The environment is welcoming to everyone, the members are all friendly to one another and it is a great place to learn Muay Thai and work on your strength.

The gym is like a tight-knit family and the classes are small in size, so therefore the coaches can work with you one-on-one during most classes and offer tips to improve. The coaches are definitely invested in your growth from a mentorship aspect. They truly care about your progress and want you to reach your best self.

If you're considering learning Muay Thai or just want a place where you can have fun, meet new people all while training and getting stronger, this is definitely the place! Highly recommended.

Love love love! Member for about 10 months. Great coaches and training, great supportive and friendly community, and lots of class options at really convenient times. Also love that they have a weight training system/classes in addition to Muay Thai - perfect for optimal training and general physical maintenance without needing another gym membership

After almost two months of coming to F5 Strength & Muay Thai I absolutely say I really enjoy training here. Not only the trainers are super friendly the people that come here are super nice. Really good vibes and most importantly, I see results. Check it out!

I never ever thought I'd be a gym rat. But this gym is awesome. Very supportive community and a place I look forward to going to. I'm so happy with the progress I've made. The changes in my body and mind have been incredible!

Walking into the gym I was surprised on how big it was. The gym has more than enough machines so you are never waiting and the staff is helpful.

Dropping 1 star just because the gym is gotten SO crowded now that is not enjoyable anymore. But oh well...

Lots opportunity here when it comes to fitness and training. Clean facility with a friendly staff. If you're lucky enough to get Patrick as an instructor, it will be a true treat. Great place.

shortly after moving to los angeles i looked for a gym proximal to my home. i was tired (and bored!) of conventional gyms and was searching for something different. in a city where gyms are a dime a dozen, i stumbled on f5 and was hooked almost immediately. i had never participated in a class format, nor had i ever had any experience with muay thai. all of the coaches here are very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. even within a class format they will take the time to tailor an exercise or instruction to a particular student if need be.

i have unconventional hours and f5 can accommodate them with classes early, mid-day, and evening. i attend some of the strength and conditioning classes but generally try and take as many MT classes as my schedule permits. as cliche and tired as it may sound, this is just as much of a gym as it is a community and the owners and coaches do everything they can to cultivate this. i could go on raving about this place but if you have any second thoughts about joining, dont! give it a shot. you will not regret it.

Joining Function 5 was a game changer for me. I was bored going to a conventional gym doing the same old routine. I had a interest in learning some form of martial arts and decided to try Muay Thai at Function 5. I was nervous at first because I'd never done anything like it before and didn't want to embarrass myself but the coaches and other students were very supportive in helping me learn.
I've now been going there for about 3 1/2 years and still love going to Function 5. Every day is still a learning experience and I have never become bored (which I always seem to do at about 6 months everywhere else).
The small class sizes are really nice because the coaches will actually pay attention to what you are doing and help you with your technique.
The other thing I really like is the people that go to this gym. There isn't a bunch of big egos or people trying to knock your head off in sparring. It feels more like a family atmosphere where people are helping each other out by either giving tips on technique or even just helping push each other to get a good work out.

This gym by far has been the best fighting gym. Small sized classes, one on one training, a lot of mitt, thai pads, and kick pad drills. Roxy (the owner) is an awesome trainer and so is all the other trainers. Very friendly atmosphere. This gym isnt a really big gym, they are primarily muay thai and strength and conditioning. So i you are into muay thai and conditioning, this is the gym. Cost is a bit high but if you want quality, that shouldnt be an issue. I would highly recommend this gym or at least come in and check it out.

I absolutely love this place. It is by far the best gym I've ever experienced and I've been to many gyms over the years. I have been doing personal strength training there since September or so (its now May) and the results have been remarkable. (Shout out to Patrick, who is by far the best strength trainer I've ever worked with.) I also go to the beginner Muay Thai classes where everyone is welcome and can feel comfortable and supported as they learn the basic techniques of the sport. So far, all of the trainers and coaches have been excellent. They also have strength classes that people can take and the programming for those is intelligent and effective. All of the classes are small and personal and the community is supportive and friendly. The artwork in the gym is rad and the gym seems to have most of what a serious strength or Muay Thai athlete would need. Initially I hesitated to come in because I was concerned that I wouldn't fit in, but I see people at different stages in their fitness training and various different kinds of people, and the general atmosphere, trainers and patrons there are friendly and welcoming. I cannot say enough good things about Function5 Fitness.

I've been a member of this gym for nearly four years, and have held pads for Roxy for upwards of ten years at this point. I've trained at other LA muay thai gyms over the years (Bomb Squad, Legends MMA, True Warrior Fitness), and Function 5 is where I intend to stay indefinitely. The facilities are kept clean and the equipment is updated on the regular, but the best aspect of it is the care and respect shown by all the instructors at all times. The fight team isn't run by bullies or thugs- quite the opposite. Everyone on the mats does their part in creating a disciplined and encouraging space where fighters can develop without having to hard spar every time. This is not to say that they pull punches all the time, though...

F5 is a classroom I'm proud to consider myself a part of. My inherent laziness aside, I look forward to each and every class I book. Hope to see you there alongside the rest of us!
