Be wary of signing up with Burnell the sales person. I came in and signed up with what I thought was a AAA discount membership. Nothing down and $40 for 5 months then he said "come talk to him" when its time to adjust the price, this was last May. Cut to March 2020 and I am still paying $40 a month. He kept giving me the runaround saying to come back next month, come back later, come back next week. Then finally he said come back around New Years. What a joke. Also offered me some LA Fitness swag for signing up and such and always gave me the runaround about that too. Very disappointed.
In terms of this gym its okay. It is the hottest LA fitness I've been I think due to the sun roof window. It's also very cramped in the weight lifting area. I find the Culver City location to be better.
Probably the best choice in the area due to it's size. Works perfectly with my schedule and commute. It doesn't have super great amenities, but it's kept fairly clean and it gets the job done.
Great spot to work out, they have all the necessary machines and everyone is very nice. Not to mention the cheap rate. I am happy to be a member
Just picked up a membership here a few weeks ago and I'm totally loving seeing the results. Glad I started working out here, it's so worth the cost. And the keep this place pretty clean too and the staff are great.
Be extremely careful when you sign up at this location. They use shady tactics to make sure you sign up (They love to skip over the fine print). They will tell you they are going to waive your initial sign up fee, and then hit you with hidden fees later. Be very, very careful what you sign up for. It may sound like a good deal, but shop around and do your research first.
Be extremely careful for the "annual" fee they charge you after 2 months but don't tell you about (how does this make sense? "Annual" means a year).

This LA Fitness is located on the west side of LA so pretty close to my house. The only bad thing regarding this location would be morning and evening commute traffic, it can be herendous ! The facility is always clean, very spacious with an array of fitness equipment. Front desk attendant is usually pretty friendly and helpful.
So I guess not all gyms are created equal. Yet I think my harbor city L.A. fitness has me spoiled with the cleanliness and the staff is great along with the manager.

I like to workout, at this gym. The only thing I will warn people about is they'll try really hard to get you into the personal trainer program which is cool if you're looking for one but if you're not, it can become annoying. But great experience overall

Overall nice facility with ample parking and friendly staff, with an ok juice bar/smoothie/shake spot inside when I know not every LA Fitness location has one. They even have a large room to drop off your kids, plus a lap pool, but the user/customer base here are mentally handicapped on some level, or learning disabled. And what I mean by that is that they don't know know how to rack their !@#$ing weights. Either that or they don't care. Nearly zero gym etiquette here. It's actually the worst I've seen in a gym, with zero level of exaggeration in this here review.
The entire place is a clustered mess. Disorganised. Dumbells and plates where they shouldn't be with the staff seemingly not caring to do anything about it. If it was my gym I'd start sending people home for the day over it.
Various grips and attachments for the cable cross and pulley machines are nowhere to be found. I'm strongly considering canceling my membership because of it.
It's not a gym for serious lifters with only 3 flat benches for bench press, and 3 squat racks. Never trust a gym with so few of them. I'm even in the gym right now as I'm typing this getting ready to leave with exactly 47 cardio machines sitting empty; unoccupied. What does that tell you about this gym? One time earlier this month. I had to wait 27 minutes on just one person to finish up with the squat rack.
I've been traveling frequently this summer, in and out of Boston and Los Angeles, looking for a good gym to join in Los Angeles while I'm here on business/work travel. The search continues.

Musty moldy smell especially in Summer time
Currently A/C broke again and they have the heater blasting making it brutal to exercise
Members can't keep their hands to themselves always invade others personal space hovering by equipment instead of waiting while working out on other equipment until the weight/machine they want to use next is free, rude. Counted 9 work out equipment on a Monday all "out of order" that is just unacceptable with no eta as when the equipment will be fixed, some broke for months - yet they charge near $30 a month member fee.

Love this gym. Basketball gym roof is low and the court is shorter than normal, but some of the best competition on Sat morning at 9:30am and Monday around 3:30pm.

The gym is actually pretty big has a huge pool, it one of the only gems that actually smells clean. The only thing I didn't like about it what's that they have group fitness classes till 10:30, when other gyms stop at 9 giving you three hours to use the room for training.

A good LA Fitness is an exception. This one is no exception. The locker room could induce vomiting.
First all this is not the place if you are trying to weight train there is not that much weights

This location is a mall and the gym is inside I find it a bit small even though it has a basketball court and a pool.

Parking wise it good lots of spaces but it is share with other businesses.

Great gym. Plenty of equipment and good facilities. Sauna, hot tub, pool, basketball courts, and classes.
Location is convenient. Overall good. I would work a little bit on renovation. Pool is very smelly.. I use to swim and don't want anymore. Chlorine smell is super strong. And you can smell chlorine only if it has something to react with..
If you are looking to burn fat, and build muscle the trainers there are great. The management is friendly the place is kept clean consistently. I saw major improvements since the time I joined in Nov 17". If your thinking of joining a gym and your reading this get to LA fitness do it for your health. No excuses
Best gym ever you need to go there and experience a good workout from top-notch trainers and an overall great atmosphere with people of the same mind in like love going to La Cienega Club LA Fitness also got the best knowledgeable managers I've ever talked to in cells and I've been in the gym scene for over 40 years
Lots of people even in the early morning. Free weights are found all over the gym because hardly anyone re-racks them. It's recently been remodeled with new floors. The showers are great in comparison to other locations.

As of October 2017 they renovated with new floors and updated many machines and weights. Better then some of the old LA Fitness around that really need an update.
However this place does get very busy during peak times.
Been there for two days so far. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I am yet to go while it's crowded but all machines are in great condition as well as a clean environment. While pool is small it does the job. Locker rooms are not impressive but no actual complains

AWFUL! It feels like you're working out in a sauna. First month when I started, the AC was not working for a few days and it was hell. During the summer it's impossible to do cardio in this gym as you're gonna be dripping with sweat in the first couple minutes on the treadmill. There's no sliding door or anything to close the entrance space, it's wide open, so the AC can't cool the gym enough. Most of the equipments are old. People are really disrespectful with the equipments. There's chewed gum all over the treadmill cup holders, dumbbells are all over the place and most likely won't be available when you need it. Very crowded on Mon-Fri between 6:30-8PM. Some nights it's really hard to find an available treadmill at this time. The staff was always polite to me, that's the only good thing about this gym.
Gym has good parking accessibility, and it's pretty much complete. Reason it got 4/5 is b/c treadmills can get pretty packed during peak hours and have you waiting a few mins, plus the men's locker room smells like ass. Literally, like ass. It's probably permanent too :/
Nice location with free parking. They have basketball courts indoors, spinning and a studio for group fitness classes including yoga, Zumba, boot camp and others. There's also a juice bar that sells merchandise. Locker rooms are standard for LA Fitness. And the indoor pool is not usually crowded.The group fitness instructors are not all equal. Check out the instructors until you find one you like.
