I went to a free Lesson a few months ago. Right after the lesson, one of the main sifus ushered me to the office room to give me a hard sell to take advantage of my slight delirium from the lesson. I stupidly signed a monthly contract. After another lesson, I decided not to go back. It seemed toxic. So I tried to cancel to prevent paying another month but they informed me that you have to have a 30 day notice So I got charged for another month. Terrible policy, not surprising for a Kung Fu place albeit honor and respect. Stay away!

My family has been going to White Tiger for years. I can't put into words what it's given my kids and me. Confidence, strength, discipline for my kids and a healthier, happier me for taking the fitness and Qi Gong classes.

I was looking for martial arts training in the West LA area a year and a half ago. I came across White Tiger Kung Fu School. At first I was surprised that they allocated a lot of time teaching kickboxing skills - very different from the Kung Fu movements I saw in movies. Then I grew to not only enjoy this portion of training but also see why it is absolutely necessary to have it as a foundation. I'm now able to understand how Kung Fu techniques can be used to block and counter the punch-kick combinations from kickboxing. What I'm learning is just a small portion of what their curriculum has to offer. I'm starting small at a level where I can manage. I look forward to becoming proficient in standup fighting and then learning grappling some day soon.

This is a great school. The staff is friendly, engaging and extremely accommodating with regards any individual's skills and/or disabilities. Street parking is usually available within half a block and the school will validate parking for the underground garage (the entrance is on La Grange Ave). I researched other martial arts programs before signing up. Frankly, the cost of this program is a real bargain, especially when you consider that classes are offered daily (which is great if your schedule varies from week to week). My son has been studying here for a year and a half and after all this time he is STILL excited to go to class.

Writing this review is particularly painful for us. Our daughter attended White Tiger for 3 years. We gave this school our full dedication and support, participating in events, buying supplies from them at full retail instead of shopping for a better price on the internet and of course always paying on time. As most parents know things change as kids get older and so do their interests. Since Kung Fu is year round and not seasonal she got a little burnt out with it. We tried taking last summer off just to give it little break. If you kid is enrolled the school charges $50 a month NOT to go there, the fee is just to hold the spot for your kid......wtf? There are always spots open, you can sign your kid up anytime, in the 3 years we were there they never turned a kid away. I know this because at the time we spoke highly of them and recommend it to friends. Never-the-less, we paid. So over the holidays we decided it was time to move on. We verbally informed the school in early January that our daughter was moving on to other interests. I don't remember the exact date but it was around the 10th. She did not attend 1 day in January, they informed us that there is a "30 Day" cancellation policy. I thought no big deal, I'll pay for January and wish them well. I sent them an email a week or so later just to confirm that we are done. This is were our EXTREME DISAPPOINT kicks in. Apparently their idea of "30 days" only applies if you let them know by the 2nd of the month! If you let them know on the 3rd or after your 30 days starts the following month, effectively it can be a 58 day notice and a way hosing us for another month. In other words they are making us pay for February. Try to reason with them and they were just not interested. They were not even concerned that we had younger daughter that we were thinking about signing up in the future. Or that I might take the time to write a review or 2 on the internet. I do not write many reviews, at our age a review from us means that we are out of minds with happiness or really pissed off. Unfortunately they really pissed us off with just how in the end they did not care about our concerns at all. For me this calls into their question of integrity, how much do they care about anything let alone our kid. We gently let them know how we felt via email and they never responded. Now I am not being so gentle.

Still I am giving them 2 stars. Both stars are very hard earned by a couple of the instructors. Sadly the policy has left us with a very bitter taste of disappointment.

I've only been there for two months and right from the start It's been an astonishing experience and educational upon technique, cardio, and a postive outlook from Sufi tanaka and woods.I hope to make this a long term experience and another branch of family since the vibe is totally and everyone is so cool.

I moved to LA 10 years ago and found White Tiger by chance, wanting to get back to any Martial Art, no matter what discipline or style at that point. After training for a few months with this close group of friends - a family really - and finding out how truly amazing Bak Fu Pai is, and its practitioners - there's no other system I'd rather learn and practice now. Period.
