USBA is a great place to send your child to challenge and strengthen them both physically and mentally. My daughter attended her first class right after she turned 8 years old. Unfortunately, we relocated out of the area and she was unable to continue her training. That said, what she learned at the Academy remains an amazing benefit in her young life. Her mental strength and maturity has allowed her to transition very smoothly to a new area, school and peer group. She is also excelling on the basketball court, playing almost exclusively against boys (some as much as 4 years older). USBA's focus on both physical and mental strength has been extremely helpful on the court as well. I recently sent an email to Rachel Kravitz, updating her on my daughter. Here is a brief part of that communication:
"I believe it takes a village and, in her relatively abbreviated time, Fin grew both physically and, more importantly, mentally during her time with yourself and Master Kravitz. She is so much tougher and mentally stronger than the other girls her age and she learned a lot of that from USBA. Even though she is still just 10, she plays (basketball) games and tournaments against kids, mostly boys, as old as 14. It's both physically and mentally challenging, but she handles it all very well. I don't say any of this to boast about my daughter. It's simply one of probably hundreds of examples of lasting impressions that your program has on kids. In an age where many are treated with "kid gloves", children who have been challenged both physically and mentally have an incredible advantage and are much more capable of handling life."
