This place will make your heart pound!
First off, I hate to sweat! I do not like the icky / sticky feeling.
I have been searching for a fitness program without having to join a large chain gym for quite some time and was excited when I learned about 3D Fitness. I found it to be intriguing. Could this be what I have been looking for? I thought I would give it a try because I really had nothing to lose as the first two classes were complimentary (who does that?). That just goes to show how much they believe in what they have to offer. I went to the first class and was definitely pooped (and amazed I survived), but totally hooked even before the first class ended!
There are so many great things to say about this place, that I'm not quite sure where to begin. If you are looking for a noisy, impersonal, crowded gym where you blend in and are just another number, then this place is not for you.
Chris and Nancy are genuine, down to earth and very passionate about their business. It is a very clean and welcoming environment where they know all of their clients by name (which is refreshing). Their goal is for everyone to have a great time while improving their health and fitness 45 minutes at a time. They will take the time to show you how to perform each exercise. They will work with you and will spot and correct your form during the work out so that you get the maximum benefit without causing any injury. Not only are Chris and Nancy your fitness trainers, they are also your cheerleader and motivator. Here, you are not just another number - that just does not exist.
There is no intimidation or judgment here. It doesn't matter if you're a newbie to fitness (like me) or if you're a fitness guru. Everyone works out at their own level and alternate exercises are offered if you are not able to perform the outlined exercise. How many times do you go to the gym just to do the same exercises over and over again? That will not happen here. You will get a totally different workout every time. They are constantly changing it up so that the different areas of the body are targeted. You will definitely not be bored!
Oh, and about that icky/sticky feeling.... I have come to learn that there are two types of sweat - good sweat and bad sweat. The bad sweat is the kind where you are just hot and sticky, either from the weather, hot flashes or environmental factors. I hate that! The good sweat is what happens at 3D. While I still don't like being icky, this type of sweat is the best kind. I actually don't mind it because at the end of each class, while I may be a bit sore in some spots, I walk away with a big smile and the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.
3D Fitness is a hidden gem - a hole in the wall type of place, but it certainly makes a big impact. It's an intimate setting so I tend think of it more as a fitness studio than a gym. So do yourself a favor and check it out! Once you've had a taste of this, you just might never go back to the same old boring routine. And yes, this IS what I have been looking for....
