From the get-go, I've only had super positive feedback about CFI. What makes my experience somewhat unique is that I continued to CrossFit through my pregnancy, which other strong mommas have also successfully accomplished with CFI's expertise. Mara, co-owner and coach, is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject since she crossfitted thru her entire pregnancy years ago. After I got the go ahead from my doc (which, btw was a resounding "yes" re: CrossFit), Mara provided me a list of recommendations - plus movements to skip for safety, and modeled important modifications. It was common for me to arrive early and chat with the coaches about how I could go about scaling the WOD, and what substitutions were needed - all the coaches were really attentive and enthusiastic about making it possible. Furthermore, CFI members routed me on, kept my spirits high and provided a whole lotta luv when I needed it! Working out left me feeling healthy, strong and energized. This box has been a blessing for me, and while my circumstances necessitated a temporary move cross-county when seven months pregnant, I credit CFI and their fine ass community for the fact that I've been able to CrossFit 3plus times/week right into my 38th week. I have two more weeks before baby arrives, and feel it's high time for a break, especially since my little dude is doing his own clean 'n jerks in my tummy.
