Watch me whip. Now watch me nae nae. How we do? Watch me watch me. Oh watch me watch me!
Another great fitness event! Thank you Yoga Mix! Don't worry I wasn't dancing but that catchy song is stuck in my head. I loved how the yoga mix kept you on your feet. One minute I am trying to not look like I'm in pain as my photo is taken in a twisting pose and another minute I have happy penguin feet while trying to look badass with football drills. This was a fun change I appreciate the variety but it did not feel like yoga or boot camp it was combo of Zen moments and intensity. I admit on the football drills I might have turned the wrong direction. Also maybe yoga socks might be helpful. Quick feet on hardwood floors are no bueno.
I bought a monthly membership to mixx and have been going regularly for a while now. I have taken a class from almost every instructor and each one of them has taken the time to remember my name, the injuries I have to be careful with, and what my goals are. The instructors are always there to help after class to help answer questions and give advice on how to get closer to my goal poses. This studio really is amazing and one of a kind and they really are looking out for their client's best interest as the first priority. I highly recommend Mixx to anyone at any skill level!
Every time I do Mixx I feel my core gets stronger and stronger. I see myself correcting my posture while walking, sitting, and going up and down the stairs. All because of Mixx. Do it once and you'll understand what I am talking about!
Mixx has been the best yoga experience I've ever had, and I've been practicing yoga for nine years! Mixx is the perfect thing if:
-you're interested in yoga but afraid you're not flexible enough
-you're interested in yoga but afraid you'll get bored during the class
-you've never even done yoga before
-you want to get a solid workout in, burn calories, build strength and gain flexibility in the process
What to expect in a Mixx Yoga class:
-Cardio: intervals of jumping jacks, mountain climbers, burpees and a ton of other creative cardio exercises that turn out to be a lot of fun to do
-Yoga: sequences of poses that are do-able by ALL skill levels! Whether it's your first time doing yoga or you're a seasoned yogi, you'll be comfortable there
-Awesome music: I am always surprised at how the music spans all genres and even all languages, which keeps things interesting
-Lack of Competition/Expectation: you know that feeling when you walk into a yoga studio and everyone is serious and doing their headstands or meditating? You'll definitely not feel that at Mixx. It is super welcoming and you'll always be greeted by the people there
-Good Pricing: compared to what I've had to pay for studios in the past. And two words: STUDENT DISCOUNT.
And they've also got different class options if you're feeling like you want an easier class (Mixx Teaser), or if you really want a workout challenge (Mixx Challenger)!! I seriously can't say enough about the classes, the people, and even the major progress I've made with my fitness since starting Mixx-- you should just try it and see for yourself!
Love Mixx Yoga. For a former athlete coming back to working out routinely, this was a perfect solution for me to add to my weekly schedule. I loved that I can feel my flexibility increase with each workout and still get those bursts of cardio and strengthening throughout the session. As a beginner to yoga, only after three sessions did I feel huge improvement and overall felt much healthier and stronger.
