Pros: Great Instructors, Challenging Classes, Personal Accountability, Easily reachable via text, Validated Parking
Cons: Too few weekend classes
I highly recommend participating in the 6-week challenge! Yes, they require a refundable $600 deposit that you get back after the 6 weeks if you make your goal. The deposit is required so people don't quit after a week and waste the time of the instructors setting up your meal plan and pretty much covers the cost of the pass they give you for the challenge.
Okay, now on to the good stuff. You can choose from 1) Losing 6% body fat, 2) Losing 25 lbs (this of course depends on if it is healthy for you to lose 25 lbs) or 3) gain muscle mass. IF YOU PUT IN THE EFFORT YOU WILL SEE RESULTS and get your deposit back. I lost 10lbs, 6% bodyfat, and gained definition in my arms and torso!
I joined hoping to learn about nutrition as I'm an active person (I bike 30 min to work every day, run 15-25 miles a week (I did cut down on my running during the challenge since I needed to take a minimum of 3 classes per week), and strength train 2-3 times a week), but knew my eating habits weren't quite giving me the results I wanted. The meal plan included in the challenge was great and easy to adjust to. You're given a list of approved proteins, carb, and greens so you can switch up what you're eating and never be bored. There are vegan and vegetarian options also. I was amazed that I didn't miss sugar or dairy at all during the 6 weeks, and I am planning on continuing to follow the meal plan now that I've finished the program.
There's a variety of classes to choose from so you'll find something to fall in love with. Everyone I interacted with was great. Bryan, the owner, takes the time to learn everyone's names and is always reachable via text if you have any questions regarding, really anything! I would take a morning strength training class with Ryan, afternoon Bootcamp with Michelle, and Sunday Cardio Agility with Bryan. All the classes are tough, but a manageable tough, and the instructor will show you modifications if you need them.
Overall, I really liked how the gym is personable and that classes have a limited number of participants, so they don't get overly crowded.
PS. If anyone can't stand fish oil pills because they cause fishy burps, try Krill Oil. Same results, no fishy burps, and you can find it at Costco.
