Small gym, but personal attention and full workout, kicked my butt.

Great work out environment. I broke my forearm in half back in July and wanted to start losing weight. I was able to do it safely with the trainers help and with modifications. Lost 13 pounds and 6% body fat. I had alot stacked against me with a bum arm and hormone therapy but I couldnt of done it without the help of some awesome trainers.

Very dissapointing. My wife did the "$500 dollar weight loss challenge" that made it seem like if you met your goal you got your money back. Except afterwards when my wife decided to join she could either pay $168 dollars per month and get her $500 back or $119 and consider the $500 towards the lower monthly. Thinking we would be with the gym a long while, we figured it would be worth it.

The training became stagnant. Richard the trainer in the evening did not try to change any routines and the classes became very boring. We decided to let them know we wanted to cancel. When we asked to cancel we were informed that the price point was based on a 1 year agreement even after we had invested the $500 the six week challenge. So in total from February when she started till now we have invested almost $1000 and yet now we still have an $88 cancellation fee. This is damn near a scam and can't see how they can gouge people like this when there are so many cheaper, honest, and transparent gyms.

Let this be a warning.

I joined Urban Block Fitness for a 6 week challenge. When I started I weighed in at 185lbs and had 31.3% body fat - however I am tall at 5'11". I had joined because I get married in a few months and was not happy with how I was looking in my wedding dress. I use to be super athletic about 10 years ago and felt it was tome to get back to that.

The owner Brandon set my goal to lose 6% of my body fat in that six week period. I was super nervous and tend to be the person that is negative on myself.. I pushed myself to stick to the nutrition plan and give every workout my best effort. Plus I had to push myself to do workouts at home or on my days off. Today I weighed out at 175lb (I LOST 10 POUNDS!) and had 25% body fat (I lost the 6%!) The trainers are incredibly motivating and knowledgeable. I mostly worked with Richard (amazing trainer, he will work you until burnout!) and was lucky enough to get to do a class with Brandon who kicked my butt!
The community aspect of this gym is something you won't find anywhere else. Even the others working out along side you are insanely supportive and push you to do your best. I learned A LOT about better eating habits and how to keep that metabolism running properly. Planning on signing up to continue this journey. I highly recommend this program to anyone that is looking to gain knowledge on health and fitness but, also to finally do something that works with the support of community and professionals.

Great coaches, varied exercises, & meal plans are provided. Really like the accountability that they provide. Minor wish that they were in a bigger space.

Great workout with personal attention and small class sizes. There's a variety of class types and a bunch of different times throughout the day to attend. It's expensive, but it's worth it.
