Love it, a great place to workout, a friendly staff specially at kids watch or Gymnastic. I take my daughter to Gymnastic and she loves going. YMCA has helped me on every way, i really appreciated. I been a member for less than 6 months and im really happy.
I love the Palomar YMCA because it is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the price is definitely great. They do offer scholarships based on income. My family qualified for one, so I pay a mere $20 per month for 5 people. All of the classes I have tried have been very good. Right now, my favorite is Bender Ball because it is new and different for me. The thing that really makes this YMCA stand out for me is the salt water therapy pool. OMG... I am training for roller derby, and NOTHING gets my sore body to relax like a soak in the therapy pool! Lastly, I have a 10 year old son who comes to this YMCA with me. He loves the classes, swimming, and the workout room. There are many machines that he is able to use. There has been an upgrade recently. Many new machines and features have been added at this facility. I can't wait to go today to try them out. There are also many incentives to come work out or just relax, and free training in additional to the staff always available to help. Gosh, so many great reasons to come to this YMCA... Free days for people to come try it out ..

The facility is ok but the staff is lacking experience and for the most part it seems that they just sit around talking to eachother or working out themselves rather than monitoring whats happening here.
Children are using the workout equipment like a jungle gym and no parents or staff in sight.
The cost of the equipment or the injury law suit will most definitely trickle down to the members with hikes in the already ridiculous membership fees. When I emailed the YMCA i got some blow off email in an attempt to appease me. I question why I still pay for my family to go here.

As non profit they should charge less to members. I think its expensive. Plus they say they are Christians however Christmas time I visited some YMCA in California and was not any Nativity or Christian decoration only Christmas tree. Why they did not included the Nativity decoration? I think was a little hypocritical.

Love that they have childcare while you work out and great pump classes!
YMCA is always the best!! No matter what city you go to!! We love it!!! The staff is very professional and friendly!!
There was absolutely no communication. I thought they closed the pool, but there was still practice and I was paying for it. Flyers didn't specify when the pool was closing.
I'm shocked this Y has an overall 4 star rating. This place is a dump folks. And I won't even get into all the reasons, I will just comment on the locker room. This is the only Y I have ever seen with a carpeted locker room. The carpets need to be either replaced or steam cleaned because they're disgusting. I have never seen a Y packed at 6:30am on a Monday morning which tells me a few things. The customers flocking to this Y like a herd of cattle must have pretty low standards, the same as anyone who gave this Y a good review. The fact that it's already crowded at 6:30am tells me that they have the membership numbers and funding to do some upgrades and remodeling, but choose not to. Their sinks are the worst I have ever seen; they're timed and have run for the shortest duration I have ever seen, they also have no pressure making it difficult to simply wash your hands; it's like trying to wash your hands using a water fountain with just a trickle of water. When I went there it was first thing in the morning and I was hoping for a quiet experience with just a few members. The locker room and showers looked like they hadn't been cleaned & I also noticed that bathroom stalls were out of toilet paper. They also have the worst lockers I have ever seen; you can't fit your stuff in them because they are too small & oddly shaped so you have to bring 2 locks and use 2 lockers.
It's an ok place, aquatics section needs to improve their scheduling and the pee wee soccer needs to get reliable coaches.

It's a good place, but not a good neighborhood. They're camps are kind of expensive (about $250+) and it's mostly high school & college students watching over the kids.
Good gym. Nothing fancy. Well managed.
Gymnastics coach Miss Heidi is the best.
