I've always wanted to be trained by Chris and Heidi Powell from the ABC show Extreme Makeover Weight loss Edition. So, after my first workout with Alex and Manny, I knew had to join this gym. My glutes were on fire, Alex and Manny were very thorough in explaining the workout and provided excellent feedback on posture, etc... In my opinion, it was better than my experience with a personal trainer and gym class experiences. I have also been to several other boot camp-like facilities in the area prior to attending USG, and this gym exceeded my expectation of a private group workout gym. Trevor provides "Tony Robins" fitness-like quality encouragement with advice that can be transferred to other areas of my life that has been beneficial to my busy work/family life. While Manny not only brings his well seasoned experience to the gym, he also provides a tough-love teaching of "no excuses/complaining" to the gym. Again, another nugget of wisdom that transfers over to one's practical life. Why? Because successful people don't complain or whine! They "work hard/play hard", right?!?! ;)
The owners and trainers are very welcoming to everyone who enters the "House of Strength" and facilitate an fun environment with big smiles and CAN DO attitudes.
Since joining USG, I noticed that my stress levels have been reduced and I no longer get pain in my neck and shoulders from long work hours writing reports on a computer. Going consistently has increased my energy levels as well. I'm hooked!!!
Oh, and by the way...I lost over 15 lbs, and am now out of the "danger zone" for diabetes! I'm within a healthy weight for my height/age and the doctor is off my back for my weight!! I'm fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans better than I did when I first got them.
And as for the review where they try to compare USG to another gym that begins with the letter "O"... that one does not offer meal plans (I believe it is safe to say "customized") , trainers checking in with you if you haven't been going, or to see if you have any questions about the meal plan. You can do a ton of awesome workouts, but if you don't have the nutrition part down you won't get the results. Sadly, I know from experience. That "other" gym costs more and you don't get Tony Robbins-like wisdom, seasoned trainers, and accountability like no other in Corona! I'm a frugal person who likes to evaluate every purchase with a fine tooth comb before determining if a purchase is an investment. I can definitely say that joining USG was a wise investment into my health.
If you're seriously fed up with being at an unhealthy weight and want to take control of your health, please contact Trevor and Manny. You will not regret it. *Disclaimer: I AM a real, satisfied client of USG ;)
