Joined the gym was really excited. Started going for 3 weeks and I injured my ankle and had to wear ace wrap and a boot for 3 weeks. Naturally I asked to pause my membership they wouldn't. So they asked for proof that I injured my ankle, so I sent them an email from kaiser website where my doctor told me to ace wrap and wear the boot for 3 weeks. He said that wasn't a good enough note either. I gave up and told him to just leave the membership. After 1 week I thought maybe ankle would feel better. It didn't and I haven't been to the gym since and got charged for it. I will keep going to the gym when I am fully recovered but was really disappointing with the

The Pilates class taught by Instructor Tallie Wood-Miller is amazing. I tell people that all the time. I follow her to all her clubs where she teaches.

I went in to check out the gym, how it is, how full and pricing. An employee gave me the tour showed equipment, rooms and such. After words we went to talk memberships, pricing and plans. The lady who sat me down was way too pushy, rude and acted like I was a moron. I think that's horribly unprofessional and I'm sure they get paid for how many memberships they get in like a commission. ( which in its own right is horrible) I said I wanted to see all my options such as other gyms and she trash talked other gyms saying they had lawsuits were too crowded. Frankly makes me not want to join this gym. Rude staff, high prices no thanks.

So far so good! Signed up 3 weeks ago and so far the gym has always been clean, tidy, and staff always helpful. My 2 yr old enjoys the daycare! Happy toddler, happy momma!

In 2013, I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I hadn't exercised in years due to the pain and ended up becoming over weight. I'm also an avid golfer and golfing had become extremely painful. I am currently into my 4th month of working out with my Personal Trainer, Martina Villasenor. Not only am I able to golf pain free, I promised myself to start buying new clothes once I hit the 150's. It's been several years since I've felt comfortable wearing form fitting clothes and it will take some getting used to but here's the first outfit. Fitness has become an important part of my lifestyle thanks to Martina!

It's ok, but not really one of my favorite gyms. Steam room and sauna are a little small.

This review will be based off of three types of experiences: membership enrollment, gym check-in, and pool visits.

Let's start where it all began, membership enrollment. In all honesty I already had a membership for planet fitness which I only used for massages and tanning. $20 a month and I was happy. However my best (and only) friend is pregnant so our favorite thing to do this summer is beat the heat! How do we do that? By swimming in pools of course (because lakes are infested with creatures that eat you). Since she was already a member at this location she brought me in to be a guest. Probelm was, summer lasts longer than one day. That's were Keevin came to the rescue. Although a salesman, he wasn't pushy and annoying like they usually are. He originally was going to set me up with a free two week trial, but when the two weeks ended what was I to do?! I asked about membership pricing and holy moly did I about have a heart attack. Let's be real, totally not in my budget. So I told him real and upfront it couldn't happen. So instead of telling me that I'd HAVE to pay, he asked me what I needed from him to get whatever it was I wanted to get out of this experience. So I told him my financial situation, how I really only come for the pool and he responded with "let me help you out". This is when he pulled out the big guns! Up walks Anre (no really, there's no "d", although he likely does have one!). Anre is a manager (or supervisor of some sort) and after hearing my situation he literally dropped the membership price to what I call a blessing! On top of that, he helped me waive the enrollement fees since I had to pay extra to terminate my planet fitness. But wait, the customer service gets even better! My husband also uses planet fitness so we considered switching him as well. As we discussed it we concluded that since my husband travels for work and is only home 3-4 days a month, the membership wasn't reasonable. Rather than being pushy and manipulating things to make it sound like I must enroll him too, they empathized with my situation and told me to just speak to a manager if my husband ever wanted to come visit and swim with me. Like WOWZAS! I can't get over how kind and generous these two men were. Snaps to Keevin (yeah that's really Kevin with an extra "e) and Anre (again, yeah there's no "d") you da real MVPs!

Ok so after enrollment came my visits which always started off with a card scan at check-in. Let me just say, for a bunch of attractive young millennials, this front desk crew is the kindest, most genuine hard working group of young adults. Shout out to Jacob who always serves with a smile on his face and is quick to fulfill my obnoxious requests without hesitation!

Alright so after check in, I always turn my back to the weights and head straight for the part that really matters: the pool! Now let's be real, summer time at a gym pool can be really relaxing (don't be fooled, my pregnant friend and I can't swim, we just sit on our pool noodles and gossip about our own marriages) but in real life it can be a fricken splash zoo! Children can take up the entire place, jumping, kicking, splashing, killing the vibes. But there's no need to fear, lifeguard Steven is here!!! First off, ladies if he is single, you better get on it. Steven is a hunk, and a total sweetheart. He does a great job monitoring everyone's safety and an even better job with the kids. When they tend to have a little too much fun, Steven kneels down to their level and kindly reminds them of the rules. He's never demeaning but rather friendly and encourages everyone to have a great time. Steven, you da bomb!

So this is my experience with this gym. Unfortunately if you're a super pig headed, high ego, protien shaking, weight droppin jerk I don't have much to tell you about the "workout" atmosphere. But if you're just looking for a family friendly gym to make your second home, then this is the place!

The atmosphere here is great as all members are friendly with one another. Personal Trainer Martina is great with keeping my workouts challenging and purpose driven. Getting the results I wanted and never have the same routine, as they are always evolving. She does an awesome job and would highly recommend her for anyone looking for result driven workouts

I've been a member at this location since October of last year and I have nothing but the best to say about everyone there! The workout areas are always clean, the staff is friendly and caring and it feels like home! I've really enjoyed the classes, especially the Body Fit class with Dmitriy Gmyr (who also happens to be my personal trainer). He does a fantastic job at helping us target different muscle groups and teaching us different exercises to improve our overall fitness levels. I also love how each person can customize the exercises to fit their personal abilities. Fitness manager Omar Cortez has also been a great person to work with! He is so encouraging and has such a great knowledge base about health and fitness! I love that I can ask him questions any time and know that I will get a fantastic and fully detailed answer. I'm so thankful that I decided to join and I would recommend Calfit to anyone!

Very good gym. It's not a meat market, which I like.

Love the equipment that they had at this location. I would give 5 stars except for the fact that the front desk attendant didn't change the paper towels in the men's locker room even though he signed off on the locker room check sheet saying that everything looked good.

Big turn over in staff.
Not as trustworthy as I thought unfortunately.

The gym itself is clean, and my family and I appreciated utilizing the facility when we were there. Love the salt water pool it's great for my Lupus, Fybromyalgia and other chronic pain symptoms. But the stress of being overcharged and repetitively requesting to freeze the account and being told a handful of reasons why they can't .....etc......

Got attitude from the clerk, customer service should be better. We don't pay high dues for this.

really good place to work out kick boxing class is awasome

October 25, 2017 15:04

Kinda small and make sure to bring your own lock for the lockers, but good place overall. Good equipment and good people.

October 25, 2017 15:04

I've been a member for over 15 years and have watched the place crumble. Old beat up equipment in cardio that they refuse to fix (3 of the 4 upright bikes are out of commission and have been for 6 mos). They are always "waiting for a part". I asked to speak with the manager today. She refused to come out of the office and I was told she was busy doing "paperwork." Unable to reach anyone at corporate. ( message left on recorder never answered) You spent bucks on stupid signs on the walls, but don't maintain the eqipment or offer an semblance of customer service. The racquet room you turned into an equipment room is poorly ventilated and smells to high heaven. I've seen more inviting lockers rooms at bus stations.
Yuk.

Spa and equipment always works staff is friendly way better then Sunrise location where the equipment is always broke the spa never works and they never feel the need to explain but collect your dues faithfully but not this location it's one of my favorite locations besides downtown

October 25, 2017 15:04

I use 4 different Calfits and this is my least favorite. I don't like the lay out.

October 25, 2017 15:04

Fantastic! Well maintained and never have to wait for eqipment.
