The Blonde fat lady up front called me a liar within the first 20 words she spoke to me.
Its a reasonable price and I can take my kids to family swim time so they can swim and play in the pool
The place is clean and the patrons are a respectful bunch. I love the sauna & pool. The employees are super helpful.
Still a great place to work out always clean and friendly.
I spent year at planet fitness and decided to come back to Marvin Altman for the showers, whirlpool and swimming pool
On my return first thing ..
I noticed how much better the exercise equipment was at Marvin Altman's then planet fitness
I am talking they are hundred percent better made .
There is no comparison I'm glad I'm back...
Not a good place for heated pool therapy. They have a section for that in their indoor pool with ramp so I was excited at the possibility. They charge more than other places for this in town but the people seemed friendly, it had a ramp rather than a lift that is hard to obtain and they said it was heated satisfactorily for physician required pool therapy. I explained my neurodegenerative condition. The pool is not heated adequately per heated PT therapy standards for anyone with a condition that would actually require it not just prefer it including arthritis, neurodegenerative, connective tissue disorders, muscle spasms, etc. so it caused me severe muscle spasming and joint subluxations that required weeks to recover from. I expressed this concern and was told the heater was temporarily malfunctioning and was now fixed. So I tried again. Same result, weeks to recover and be able to get out of bed. I asked for a refund from the manager. Was told I would get a full refund considering the extenuating circumstances. Only received a partial refund and they said they charged me for two months I had membership. Only had membership for month and a half and all that time except 3 thirty min visits to the pool were spent in bed recovering from the damage the pool did to me. Very disappointed that they promised a full refund and then didn't deliver. Very disappointed I spent hundreds of dollars on this expensive lesson that the local hospital gym does not support my need to do medical heated pool therapy to reduce my muscle atrophy. I guess they don't keep it heated enough-90 degrees is what it should be-because of the swimmers on the other side of the same pool but they do not represent that upfront. I went there to save money because I didn't have the money for daily PT copays especially when I can't even do enough to warrant a physical therapist and instead lost a bunch of money I didn't have getting hurt. The only good I will say is it's good they have a ramp although watch out at the end of the ramp where it connects to the pool there is a large lip that I tripped on all three times which also hurt me. Also good is the people are friendly there but in the end, not helpful enough.

The classes were great but when it was time to cancel, they added a fee to my account. They couldnt give me a reason as to the late fee. They claimed it was payment related but would not accept anything from the bank showing that the payment was never declined in order to waive it. This payment had been on auto draft and had never had an issue. The manager behind the desk simply said that it didn't matter because even if it was an error they do not waive the $25 fee they gave me. They simply don't do that. Very disappointed at the way they handled this. After completing my year,I went ahead and paid the full amount just to end it today.

A bit expensive but they have a lot to offer along with exercise equipment they also offer exercise classes large pool suna and whirl pool foe 42$ a month

New equipment very clean nice friendly staff and a great variety classes to choose from.
Friendly staff, enough and varied equipment, many classes at different times, childcare.
There is a pool which is nice for laps, they have a lot of fitness equipment - nice, they have classes, but they do not have punching bags and the women's sauna doesn't work
De only thing I don't like is there's no mirrors on de main floor only in class rooms. I like to watch what I'm doing, it helps keep a proper form & training to do de exercises properly I think that would help prevent an injury which is surprising that being said because it's de hospital & I would think that they would fit that into place somewhere (mirrors in de main floor with de machines & weights). Noticed that de staff doesn't really clean de whirl pool in de women's lockers. One day they told me they empty it half way & scrub de edges & fill it uP but several months went by & they were just dumping de water & filling it. I put a note in de suggestion box. Months have past & nothing changed. I've been busy lately used to go everyday during de summer. Haven't stopped because of difficult employees but I do have more options now & have been busy for awhile.

Enjoy your choice of training programs to suit your needs for your personal goals they have a huge swimming pool. Also try the sauna or hot tub located in the locker room area. You can also enjoy yoga if you take the elevator, near the receptionist, it's only a short ride one floor up. Have fun getting fit at Marvin Altmans fitness center it's always an enjoyable experience for me hope to see you soon!
