Great Staff - Awesome Experience

Instructors are helpful, BUT the website did false advertise the "MONTH-TO-MONTH NO COMMITMENT" plan I had signed me and my girlfriend up for, I initially chose this plan because I had been invited to attend COTA to work for D.O.C.and I wanted to better myself physically and since I only had a month before having to leave for the academy I seen this as a quick one month and go plan as I would no longer be living in the town the gym resides in. I verbally notified staff that I would be moving and my girlfriend sent an email canceling our memberships as we were asked to. A month into the academy I was billed for an additional month, when I called and asked why, the operator nicely stated that I need to write a letter or email stating that I was ending my membership and that this had to be done 30 days prior to the next billing cycle as to not be charged again, I informed the operator that I had done so and that I was on the "NO COMMITMENT MONTH-TO-MONTH" plan, the operator stated that he saw what plan we were on and that someone would contact us the following day to explain, shortly after the phone call I received a rude email by someone named "Mercedes" with the subject line "I SENT YOU A COPY OF THE CONTRACT YOU BOTH SIGNED. IF YOU READ RULE NUMBER 13 ASK FOR YOU TO CANCEL 30 DAYS BEFOR."
But rule 13 states "I understand this agreement may be canceled at any time by paying a cancellation fee of $100 for 12 month contract if cancelled prior to 12 months. If the student and/or co-signer wish to cancel this agreement on the stated terms set out,, they may do so by sending a 30 day written notice, delivered to Yuma United MMA at least 30 days prior to the cancellation date desired by the way of registered mail or in person to (the address of the gym)" but I was at no point under a 12 month contract, I did not sign up for a 12 month membership i then reread the contract and it at no point states that the "NO COMMITMENT MONTH-TO-MONTH" needed cancelation as it was in fact a NO COMMITMENT plan. If those rules applied to this specific membership it would require applying and canceling the membership the same day to avoid being charged for another an additional month. All in all the instructors did help me improve my physical fitness and taught me new moves specifically in the jiu jitsu class, but the behind-the-counter staff or management need to fix their attitudes and learn how to talk to and not down to customers, along with renaming the name of the plans as to not falsely advertise.
it's a good place.
Super motivating environment with so much variety. Coaches and staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable. I love Yuma United!
