Felt welcome from the get go. Super clean! Friendliest staff around and they are always cleaning! I did my trial. About a month after I finally signed up. Walked in and Heather knew my name still and where I worked and everything. Definitely a place to feel like a part of the family and be able to get an amazing workout in.

The owner and staff are all very welcoming! They greet you by name and encourage you to be the best you can be. Never overcrowded and all equipment and locker rooms are clean! You can tell members and staff care about the facility. My trainer Haley has been amazing! Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. 10/10 A+ for me

Great people and great place to work out

Best gym I've ever been to. Here are the reasons why Elite is the best.
1. Tons of area to work out in. I've never felt cramped; I've never had to wait for someone else's workout to be over.
2. 24 hour gym so you can go whenever it suits your schedule.
3. Lots of squat racks!
4. Variety of cardio machines to sweat it out.
5. The staff is really nice. Everyone greets me at the door and says goodbye when I leave. Everyone is also happy to answer any questions. As a Midwesterner, this matters to me.

I have been a member of Elite for almost a year now. This is by far the best gym I have experienced. The staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming. They offer great personal training and small group training. Justin is my current trainer. He is very nice and encourages me to keep pushing. The owner Chris Runyon is very nice and hands-on in the gym as well. I would definitely recommend anyone in the Chandler, Ahwatukee or Tempe area to come join this awesome family!

New, clean, and lots of equipment. Shouldn't have a problem being bored or with waiting. Staff and members are super friendly. Get in do your work and get your gains.

Very happy with this membership. Friendly staff, great facility. Some machines but plenty of free weights. They even have an impact room with reinforced floors if you want to exercise olympic lifts. I've never had to wait for a rack or any free weights. They have thrive classes and other group classes as well. This place is legit. Highly recommend.

I was looking forward to sign up at Elite Sport and Fitness after testing it for a week. I walk in with a tank top and sandals(of course not planning to workout). A couple and their child were signing up and when i waited behind them, the guy at the front desk immediately stopped explaining the membership to the family, looked at me from head to toe(very slowly) and stared for about 10 seconds. Then I wondered "What the heck?" then he had a disgusted look on his face. It took him about 20 seconds to finally continue. I stuck around about 30 more seconds when he was explaining how much the cost would be to the family and in his peripheral vision, his pupils moved back on me again. Crazy! Never experienced this at a gym in my LIFE!!! I understand staring when people workout due to bored, curiosity, whatever. I'm not dealing with this. Who would? Walked out.

This was strange because 1) he paused in mid sentence what he was saying to the family while signing up just to stare which is rude to that customer 2) He was staring like I wasn't welcome with a disgusted look, which was also rude. Either way, he really made himself look like a jerk.
It was pretty weird.

I've been going all week and had no problems. I spoke to the women(Heather being one of them) working at the front counter during this time about a membership. They were very kind with unparalleled service and I also spoke to a couple of the trainers which were also very professional. Also, helped spotting some of fellow bodybuilders after they asked. "Of course!"

No excuse for this. If he has a problem, better ways to express it in a professional manner. Could he have said something when/after this happened? Yes. If they really wanted this customer or solve an issue, could he have stopped me while I was walking out? YOU BETCHA!!! Do I expect much? Not at all. I just wanna push a couple dumbbells around and call it a day.

This was completely obnoxious. Personally, I can't think of a worse fail since I was ready to sign up after the week. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Not smart. Perfect example of what not to do in every way possible.

So this is going to be somewhat biased as far as reviews go. I am a member. Last year I tried the gym out for free for a week and joined immediately the next week.
The staff greets you when you walk in, by name. They keep adding new equipment and offer Tribe classes. I opted for a personal due to back problems, and he builds specific workouts for me.
You can access the facility 24 hours a day via a key fob and they have staff/trainers that are very personable/helpful.
Locally owned/operated. The owner is also one of the personal trainers. I highly recommend this gym.

Update: I have zero voicemails on my phone from Elite Fitness or anything else regarding gyms or fitness, nor did I delete any.

Next, if you saw the video, you would see me walking out. I didn't walk out for no reason since I left my home just to sign up.

Last, seems to be an ongoing issue by the look of a similar situation with another reviewer. While you may have a few positive reviews, I personally would correct this by termination as an example of what not to do. I do not accept excuses for poor business practices, that's just my opinion. This situation should never have happened in the first place.

I did think the clients and the ladies at the front counter were great.
Like I said, when it came to the most important moment, it was an epic fail.

The staff at Elite Sport and Fitness have been absolutely wonderful to work with! Before joining, I did a TON of research as I did not have good experiences with other fitness centers/trainers over the years. My past experiences led to major anxiety when just thinking about trying a new facility, so I was apprehensive to say the least. So much so that it took almost a year just for me to walk through the doors. Before I signed up, they asked me many questions, did not show a single bit of judgment, patiently listened to my needs, and were responsive in setting goals that were right for me from the start. This was important to me as I was recovering from a major illness and multiple surgeries/intensive medical care on top of having conditions that make me more prone to injury than the average person. They answered all of my questions, never pressured me with aggressive sales tactics, and have since flexibly adapted my plan to accommodate my changing needs.

I've personally seen Elite Sports and Fitness skillfully serve a diverse population of clients and do a great job demonstrating professionalism when working with people at all levels. I was perfectly paired with Justin for personal training (an excellent trainer and experienced athlete) and signed up for Core taught by Sandy/Justin (one of the three Tribe group fitness classes they offer). I've also worked with Dr. Aaron for nutrition/wellness education. In addition to facilitating Core, Sandy has helped me with soft tissue work and has taken time to thoroughly educate me in managing my hyper-mobility, scoliosis, and shoulder issues. What most impressed me is that they operate as a multidisciplinary team in addressing my situation, always communicating with each other to ensure the best plan of action.

While also being personable, responsible, and approachable, they have all demonstrated a level of skill and expertise that has effectively guided me through working past some major physical and mental blocks. I'm now learning to safely undo old habits while increasing confidence and body awareness. I find it extremely rewarding and motivating to advance to levels beyond what I would have been able to do alone. I still have a long road ahead but thanks to their support, knowledge, and accountability, I'm no longer fearful of going to the gym and expanding my abilities.
I'm excited to see their new facility and I look forward to a positive continued working relationship with the team! I recommend Elite Sports and Fitness highly to everyone and I am so grateful for all they have done to help me reach my goals. If you are looking for a team of skilled trainers and fitness professionals that know how to tune in to your needs while challenging you along the way, don't be afraid to give them a try. The money spent here has been well worth it as it would have been spent on doctor's visits and medical treatments down the road.

I see great potential for Elite to develop into a one-stop wellness and fitness center, helping people to need less medical care while empowering them to take charge of their health. Coming from a registered nurse, very few places have the overall mindset and expert resources to be able to accomplish this. Thank you to Justin, Sandy, Dr. Aaron and the rest of the staff at Elite Sport and Fitness! Even though you are dutifully doing your jobs, you've helped me in many ways I cannot fully express.

I rarely write lengthy reviews but found it important to share my experience with anyone else who may be struggling, just as I was. Good luck!

Greatest gym I have ever been to. All the equiptment you could need, lots of power racks and deadlift platforms. Always super clean, you would think everything is new because it's always so clean.

October 19, 2017 14:25

A few years ago I joined Elite Sport & Fitness when a friend of mine became one of their trainers. What I thought I would find is just another gym, but instead what I found was a solid group of people (staff and members) that are always upbeat, friendly, and encouraging.

I fell off the wagon and stopped working out altogether for about a 2 year period (your body certainly can change for the worse when you let yourself go) but then a friend of mine dragged me to a TRIBE class at Elite and I found myself surrounded by familiar faces and incredibly positive energy. I signed back up.

Chris and his staff at Elite are truly top notch. The facility is always clean, the equipment is never broken. There is more than enough free weights. And the classes that are offered are well worth their cost.

Forget the big name chain gyms. Elite Sport & Fitness is the place to be.

My trainer friend had to relocate from SE Valley, and is regrettably too far for me, so did a Google search for my area, visited website of 6 outfits to submit requests for meeting; only Chris from Elite responded (and within an hour!). We met for a talk, discussion of goals, he gave me an honest (and astutely accurate) assessment, showed me the entire facility (impeccably clean, organized, well-maintained, everything one needs!), introduced me to one of the trainers he felt would work best. Erica L is outstanding: states her expectations, no need to worry about motivation, with a chiropractic background she knows where to focus, innovative off the charts, she's phenomenally observant about details....you get results and you learn loads. Worked with Sandi and Justin as well; two tremendous professionals with years of experience at all levels. Awesome staff, tons of students training, a delight to be at!
