This location now is closed supposedly due to the development of a new apartment complex in its place. Some members were upset to see their group exercise classes relocated, but to be honest, the group exercise room has had a subpar air conditioning for the longest time, and the raised level instructor podium was a fall hazard. The whole gym was very disjointed with the bathrooms and dressing rooms on the first floor, and everything else on the second.
Very big nice and clean! Steam room was on point. Just like I like it!
Convenient location. Wish it were nicer inside. If I am going to pay membership I would like to enjoy the environment....
Many locations to choose from! Pools need to be clear not cloudy...
I'm not one to write bad reviews. But I will not let this one slide.
This is probably one of the most outdated gyms I've ever been to in my life. The building alone must have been built in the late 70's early 80's. The title throughout the restroom is this pink/beige color and the place smells like mold. There is an outdated "vip" locker room that has missing letters on the sign. The welcome sign to Scottsdale says "The most livable city". So just a word of advice, If you're going to run a gym in this city, at least invest in some renovations. Otherwise, get out of Scottsdale and allow Mountainside and Lifetime handle business.

Clean gym. Pretty large compared to other ones. Machines and weights are in good shape.

Overall a good gym. Machines are a little dated compared to the other locations.
For this specific gym, it's better than others in the area. However, since LA took over the locations from 24 Hour, they basically cut costs. The bathroom never smelled great, which is understandable considering who showers here. However, they got WORSE with LA Fitness. The equipment maintenance went down, the "ab room" has a stench that'll burn your eyes, and there are a lot of d-bags that don't put weights back here (as in more than other locations). They also cut a large majority of the classes or switched times that were just ridiculously inconvenient. My wife cancelled her contract right after the change over because she only came for the classes, and afterwards couldn't get into a single class for her schedule.
Overall, this location is just about worth $30/month compared to what you get elsewhere. I can't say I'm "thrilled" about giving them my money, but it's better than the alternative, I guess.
Also, $30 is for the multi-club fee, it's $5 less if you want single club. I commute down to Tempe, so I have options to pull off before I get home. I much prefer their location on Hayden / McCormick. It's MUCH nicer, cleaner, smells better, it's bigger and there are better looking people. Worth the extra $5 to have that option.
I would give this location a 2.5 and the other location a 4.

If you like saved by the Bell you'll be right at home, this place is straight out of the 90s. That said equipment is decent and they typically aren't super busy even at 5 pm
Lots of equipment, hood availability, parking, classes and love that you can attend a variety of locations. Also some facilities have basketball courts. Swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms all great.
A large LA Fitness offering OK classes. Large swimming pool - not sure why the private training is in the lobby. Front of house staff is friendly and informative. So many other places nearby offering better classes and better equipment. I came as a guest and will not be returning.
Typical corporate run gym with monkeys staffing the place. The 'no return of weights' policy is a bad thing. Other than that? Just makes the cut but not for serious people. Still better than a Planet Fitness ir 24 HR Fitness place
This place is a joke... Free 3 day pass to check the facility out but you get there and they wanna charge you 20 dollars to utilize the pass. They literally have the audacity to discriminate if the address on your ID doesn't say Scottsdale.
This gym is dirty, the equipment is terrible, and this location is a flashback to 1985. I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for over 15 years and like the network of gyms that I can visit when I travel. This particular location is one of the worst 24 Hour Fitness gyms I have ever been to. It's very outdated, the equipment is old and gross and it should have been remodeled years ago. In particular, dumbbells break with normal wear and tear. I have been waiting for over a year for the gym to replace the 100 lb. dumbbells yet it's been over 12 months and they can't get new ones. One of the 95 lb. dumbbells is also broken and it's been several months waiting for a replacement. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. There are way too many other better, cleaner and more updated options in the area that are a better investment.
I do like this place for more space and wide variety of equipment. However the other reviewers are not out of line saying it takes FOREVER for broken equipment to get replaced or repaired. This is true of most 24Hr Fitness, from my experience. Also, the employees could do a much better job of keeping the paper towel dispensers full. If you expect members to wipe down equipment, then keep the supplies stocked. I also agree with many others, the employees here seem way to snobby and self absorbed. Get off your high horse people. You work at a a gym and many of you dont even look like you're in that good of shape. While there are a few snobby members here, most folks are polite and friendly or at least keep to themselves. So once again, just because you're in Scottsdale does not mean you have to have an attitude.
On a positive note, the locker rooms are clean and dont smell like an outhouse like the 32nd St & Bell Road location. Also, the sauna is always working.
For the best deal here, get your membership at Costco.
When I decided to lose some weight, I started looking for gyms and fitness centers in Scottsdale and nearby cities. And I found 24hour fitness, the equipments are all new and the instructors were all helpful and accommodating. I thank them for helping me on my fitness program. Highly recommended.

Me and my boyfriend always visit 24hour fitness every weekends. We usually spend our Friday, Saturday and Sunday's here. Our trainers are also very good, well informed people and very honest to the programs they are giving us. 24Hours Fitness is the best! :)
