I tried to find out what the cheapest membership was with LA Fitness. {That should be OK}. I only wanted access to a lap pool, nothing else. Not sure who I got the first time I called, but on that first call, after pressuring me to come in to the gym for my question to be answered, I was told she had no time to talk to me because she was "the only one there" {around 3:15 PM on a Friday...August 7, 2015}. I said I'd call back later.
When I called back a few hours later and got "Priscilla". I told her I could only afford the cheapest membership and just wanted to use a lap pool. I asked the price their most basic membership with access to the pool.
Instead of answering my question, she asked me if there are "other gyms" that I go to. What, ?
I told her I had no idea why she'd ask me that. Priscilla said something about how people do this or that with various gyms, { I COULD CARE LESS, AND THANKS FOR THE WEIRDNESS}. Anyway, is it any of their business how many gyms anyone belong to ? I don't think so. Unless I'm living in some other country, but I think this is still the USA. Land of the free. But I just wanted to use a lap pool, and was being accused of "something".
I told Priscilla, " I can't believe you're asking me WHAT I do, and I don't appreciate being accused of anything". She replied, "Well, YOU called ME". Yeah, genius, except I'd called to find out your basic membership fee, I didn't call in order to be insulted and interrogated. Stunning level of maturity there. High professionalism from Priscilla. Way to go. I hung up on her.
I walk with a cane and thought swimming would be good exercise. I could swim even though walking is difficult. I've seen gyms before I don't need to go through a hard-sell attempt to get me to sign up for things I don't need and can't do. I'd love to use a lap pool, but I couldn't get past the idiocy of two of the people who work at this place. And I have to assume the way they treat people is connected to directions they get from the management. I'll take my business elsewhere.
