Great gym for my needs. It's clean and they are always welcoming and friendly when I'm here. I like the convenience of having tanning booths at the gym so i don't have to go to two different places. Saves time.
This gym always smells nasty as soon as you walk in the door. Other then that it's pretty good. There is always enough Machines and equipments when there's a lot of people there. You go in do your business and leave there is no extra mess going on.
Not super busy and relaxed. David put together my workout and, in one month of following it, I was able to complete my first Spartan sprint. Thanks Planet Fitness for helping me get healthier for my 56th birthday!
Fast easy friendly and economical, but overbooked lately.
There are three showers in the men's dressing room there, at the gym. Unfortunately, PF has made each stall a little private dressing room in itself.
As a result, despite the lockers and a common area to change, apply deodorant or cologne, big mirrors with hair dryers, etc., guys are camping out in each stall with clothing, toiletries, cologne, and who knows what else and are taking literally 40 minute "showers."
With 80 men at the gym working out at any given time, the showers should be for just that. A 10 minute shower...not a private relaxation area while 8 or 9 of us wait and shiver, or leave kind of "ripe."
Visited this location 5 years ago and again today. The gym has upgraded their equipment and visually looks good. The first thing when you walk in is the smell of the gym which is not good, however as you work out you tend to not notice it as much. Took a shower here and just like many but not most location, the showers needed much attention. Lots of parking.
Planet fitness is great. Find you zone and work out. Remember your here for your health so live but the model of "judgement free zone." we are all perfect and beautiful. Be yourself and enjoy you time here so listen to music that gets you hyped up and work that body to what you see is your perfect and healthiest figure. Be well and love yourselves and one another.
One of the better planet fitness locations. Not a lot of machines are ever down. It gets busy at peak times but what do you expect. Always clean. But I haven't seen the lunk alarm go off yet! Just curious to what it sounds like
ERIKA was great in helping me for my 4 hour airport layover. She's awesome!
It's not LA Fitness (no pool, group classes, child care), but for $20 a month it's great. I go in the morning before work, not overly crowded. Lots of cardio machines, resistance, specialty rooms, weights. Lots of TVs (this location has an HGTV TV, I love watching home remodel stuff during cardio for some reason). The locker rooms are nice, good showers (bring a towel, shampoo, etc). With the $20/month plan, you can use the massage chairs/beds, tanning, etc, bring a guest to work out with, and use any other Planet Fitness location. There's the occasional person sitting on a machine I want to use, just playing on their phone, not using the machine as anything other than a chair, but I'm sure this lack of gym etiquette happens everywhere. I always enter the parking lot for this location from 40th St. so I can avoid the whole Walmart parking area s*** show.
I visit this location several times a week. The best way for me to describe my feelings toward Planet Fitness as a whole is "reluctant acceptance." PF is a good value. I started at the Arizona Ave location in Chandler with the $10/mo membership, but upgraded to the $20 Black Card when I changed offices. With the Black Card I am able to utilize any location (max 10x a month) even if it's not my "home" location.
Essentially, you get what you pay for with Planet Fitness. PF has a lot of cardio equipment, and an okay amount of weight machines. This seems to be consistent across all locations. From an expectation standpoint, it's good that they're fairly consistent. However, there is some variation in machine availability and design from facility to facility. As I have continued to progress in my workout routine, I do find myself wishing my gym offered a larger variety of equipment.
For the price, it's hard to complain (until you compare them to Eos...)
As for THIS Planet Fitness location...
The Crowd:
During the time of day that I utilize this gym (early morning), there are not many people there, but I can't comment on how busy their peak hours are. For my needs, the amount of people is perfect. From what I can tell, the "judgement free zone" mentality isn't really an issue. I've seen evidence of this business model causing issues either with patrons or staff members at other locations, but I've never seen any issues.
The Equipment:
As mentioned above, PF doesn't have a ton of equipment, but it has what you'll need for basic weight lifting, cardio and stretching. My gripe with this location is that some of the attachments for the cable machines seem to have disappeared over time, and have not been replaced. For instance, there has not been a V-bar attachment for several weeks. This is a pretty standard accessory to expect from any gym. The other attachments are limited in quantity and condition, which hasn't hindered my workouts yet, but I imagine it has for those who come when the gym is more occupied.
Additionally, the equipment seems to get to the point of needing to be serviced before it actually is, instead of being consistently maintained. On one occasion, as I was using the cable row machine, I pulled the weight plates up, and they did not come back down.
The Facilities:
This location does have a bit nicer of a layout in the locker room and shower area than other locations. The 3 main showers have a changing area attached to each of them, which is very convenient. This offers more privacy and ease of use. Much like the equipment, this area does not seem to be consistently maintained. I recently went into a shower to find a soaked box from a bar of soap and a used Band-Aid on the floor. I opted to use a different shower. After my workout the following day, I returned to this shower again to find the same box and Band-Aid still on the floor.
The Staff:
I have little input to offer regarding the staff. There is generally the same gentleman there whenever I work out. I haven't interacted with him a whole lot, but he is very sociable to many of the regulars. He's rarely manning the counter, but he always has the phone on him for patrons to call him back over if needed.
PF does offer training at no additional charge, but this is limited to one trainer's schedule during typical workday hours.
Overall, Planet Fitness is perfectly adequate for someone wishing to be physically fit. It doesn't offer the frills of higher-end gyms, and would not be great for someone looking for intensive body-building equipment. The ability to location-hop with the Black Card is a big perk, as PF has several locations nation-wide. This is the main reason that they have my business. There are competitors in a similar pricing structure that have more to offer than PF, such as Eos and YouFit, but they do not offer the same vast array of locations. I'll be sticking with Planet Fitness until I decide I want to spend a significantly higher amount on a fancy gym or their competitors greatly expand.
Love the atmosphere here. The staff always greets you as you leave and come in. The facilities are nice and well kept. I just wish they had a daycare because I would pay 20 more dollars a month for it and come every day !

Oh my gosh, I love it. It's comfortable, the staff are nice, the locker rooms are clean and pretty. I'm really happy with my membership.
Their "clunker" alarm is so loud I left with a headache. And once per month they really do offer bagels and another day pizza. This doesn't make sense since these are like the worst things on the planet to eat while trying to get healthy or fit. On the up side these gyms are kept very clean and they offer pretty reasonable membership prices.

Great location and friendly staff, albeit a bit eager to make a quick sale. Plenty of machines and equipment. I was surprised by all of the extra amenities like tanning, hydro massage, and massage chairs. Along with unique training sessions

Nice spot. Lots of variety for machines and opportunity to find something that fits your workout
I like everything except for bench press incline and the decline press machine. So much so that had to buy my own free weights because I was not pleased with the result after one month of using your machines. I will say this again that free weights work better most machines. I am not a beginner to working out.
When I first walked into the gym, I had a very impersonal welcome. For a new member I wasn't given a tour of this location. I wasn't told about the equipment. I was very, very disappointed with that staff that day .I also was trying to get more information about how the billing would work towards my account .The young lady your customer service representative just ignored me .She asked what size of tee shirt I'd like.. .
What really grinds my gears was the music they been playing. Its very annoying and disturbing. It was really hard to concentrate when the song itself was repetitive, and the water taste bad for some reason. The equipment wasnt bad and the free weights.
Coming from an L.A. Fitness I was skeptical, but now I love it. For the price, best upkept clean machines all around, vast cardio equipmenr, plush showers and friendly staff
I'm a black card member so I go to whichever gym is closer to me. Today I went to the one on Thomas and was amazed and disappointed. Their relaxation room was quiet and isolated which was great. The equipment all looks new. The only downside is it's really hot in there. There weren't a lot of people but the staff told me they don't know how to work the fans. It was too hot to continue my work out so the new equipment no longer mattered.

Physical gym is varied and in good working order. Equipment great for strengthening, stretching and coordination. Love the two Fitness Gyms we use.
Very nice staff, very clean, great price for what you get. Great workout with trainers.
Not my usual gym. But definitely wont come back. There treadmills aren't that great. And the lady who was working was very rude and rolled her eyes several times why we were signing in.
Just joined here after a decade at LA Fitness. I LOVE this place. It's not pretentious, the equipment is clean and in good shape, and I really really like the quick thirty minute classes that they do with the equipment on the floor (not in a studio). Just did a strength one with their trainer who I thought was awesome. I also really like the hydro massage and the massage chair. The purple and yellow colors are a bit jarring, but I'm getting into them. I thought all the affirmations on the walls were a bit cheesy, but now I like those too! I don't appreciate the tootsie rolls up at the front or the monthly member pizza and bagels (can we say diet sabotage!), but luckily I don't like tootsie rolls so I have successfully stayed away from them and I haven't run into the pizza or bagels yet (I would probably eat those.) But anyway, that's just my opinion. Otherwise, LOVE this place!!! And it's super affordable too.
Pretty solid choice for working out and membership prices. Try to get here early in the morning or around noon. Any time after that, it gets really busy. Also, after 9 pm is a good time as well. I only wish they had some free weights, when it comes to the curl bars.
The cleanliness is superb, the personnel work very hard, HOWEVER the gross misuse of talking on cell phones needs to be addressed in a big way. I have seen people with Ipads having meetings waving their arms on the treadmills talking loud, women who are on from the minute they come in until they leave nonstop talking. This is a problem BIG TIME. Signs need to be installed. It is a rude practice and abused on a daily basis. I applaud all the good things but this is a problem
It may seem that Planet Fitness is a large company. But the fact remains that they only make it easy to take your money with no simple way to cancel. I can cancel my utility service more easily. No excuse for such a difficult process in this digital age.

I love it here! the staff is always super friendly! the atmosphere is calm and i can work out in peace without feeling like i am being judged. The fitness instructor Kevin F. is very informative and professional.I highly recommend him if you have any questions on what you want to work out on or just have a fitness plan in mind.Thank you planet fitness of Arcadia. I finally found my gym! :)
The best planet fitness in the valley! I was sad when he tore down the Harkins theater and build this planet fitness there. Finally after months of it being an opening I joined best decision ever. It is walking distance from my Home, it's nice and clean, the workers are friendly and they have a unisex bathroom.
Always polite employees and the facility is always clean and inviting. It just has a more relaxed feeling than any other gym I have been too. And I don't feel pressured to look or be a certain way. Love it
Bathrooms are gross do they not no what keeping it clean is. Did my workout was needing a shower and all I can say is yuck! Hair in the drain dirty walls and floors. What a shame! Came back and thought I would share 2 showers stalls that are less than appealing.
The grime and the stuff on the floor. The manager should look into hiring a professional cleaning crew.
