I have been boxing here for a couple years and I love it. The coaches push you in skill, strength and cardio. I would recommend it to anyone of any skill level.

Coach Chavez is amazing. He works with my son one on one and has a lot of patience. I would highly recommend him for any age group.

Affordable. Customizable. Effective.
I've been attending Chavez Boxing Gym for 8 months, training 3x a week in 1-on-1 sessions. I work with two coaches, Pete the owner and Adam aka Coach Kelly, a long-time client turned trainer/coach. I knew nothing of boxing when I began, having never even seen a fight on TV. I was nervous, intimidated, and certain I'd try it once and be too chicken to return. However, after my first session, despite feeling entirely uncoordinated and totally exhausted, I knew I had landed in the right place. Sure, the workout was hard (possibly the hardest I've ever endured) and the mental challenge even greater (the "chess of athletics"), BUT what hooked me was the warmth of the community inside. The coaches are patient and skilled. The fighters, friendly and welcoming. And the other more casual clients, genuinely supportive of your journey. Coach Pete has dedicated his life to the sport and his community and this gym is a direct reflection of all he embodies.

Bonus: by coming here, you get to support a local business with a mission!

*Oh, and I've lost 20lbs and shaved 2 minutes off my mile!

I have been to every well known boxing gym in the state of Arizona and Chavez boxing gym is definitely in the top for great places to learn boxing! It is spotless and smells clean! Chavez works one on one with his students and gets in there and spars with them as well. He teaches the basic fundamentals for new students which many coaches fail to do. This basic foundation lays the success for strong, skilled fighters. I recommend this place to anyone looking to start from scratch, tune up your skills or prepare to compete on an amateur or professional level! Great Place for sure!

Coach Chavez runs a non profit foundation for youth and he also does one on one boxing training separate from his foundation. Coach Chavez has been training my two boys (10 & 8 years old) and myself for the last five months one on one. He has been fantastic with my two boys and with me. My boys and I each train for thirty minute periods a couple times a week. Coach Chavez is completely focused on who he is training for that thirty minutes. He knows when to push, when to pull back and is great with kids. Whether you have been boxing for years or just starting out I would highly recommend talking to Coach Chavez.

My experience is with private boxing sessions at the Chavez Boxing Gym. This is a first rate gym. Pete and the staff are excellent. This is a professional environment that will work you hard and get you into shape. Highly recommended. Thanks Pete for everything.

I have a son that we were hoping to get in shape and do something fun as well as be pushed to get in shape, as long as it's not cruel, so we chose this gym. The trainer has rules of attendance which is fine, but seems to get fed up easily and give up on kids that need a push in the right direction. My son was struggling at practice one day after being suspended from the gym for two weeks for being absent, and because of him struggling he was kicked out of practice and refunded our money which is pretty harsh for an 11year old. Even worse, the trainer never came to me or his mother to report any issues our son may have been having if there were any. We always had to hear it from our kid. Not cool

I highly recommend Max Rosenfeld as a personal trainer. He's super knowledgable, dependable and focused on results. I have quite a few sports related injuries and I was always cautious to push myself at the gym before Max. Training with Max, he's taught me proper form and discipline. Now, I'm training hard and effectively despite my past injuries and I'm stronger than ever.
