I went to Spooner Physical Therapy because I was increasingly having significant pain in both shoulders when playing golf.
My primary care physician at the Mayo Clinic had recommended that I have a cortisone injection and then follow that with physical therapy.
My experience at Spooner began with a strong referral to them from a very good friend and neighbor. I had the pleasure of meeting the Director of Spooner, Nick Sutton, PT who listened carefully to my reason for being there and assured me that he would develop and implement a plan to resolve my health issues as quickly as possible. Nick listened carefully on that first visit, and also listens just as carefully on each subsequent visit. I have been visiting Spooner three times a week for two weeks. On every visit, Nick first interviews me carefully to see how I'm feeling, verifies I have been following the personalized home exercise plan he had sent to my computer, and then physically examines my area of concern...in my case my rotator cuffs. He then assigns me to one of his exercise technicians who takes me through a 20 minute series of exercises he has selected for the long-term correction of my problem. Following the exercises, Nick then has a hands on session during which he puts my shoulders through a series of motions while he deeply probes the area where my pain is at it's worst. I am delighted to already be seeing improvements.
This was my first experience with any type of professional physical therapy. I cannot imagine ever getting better care.
Nick is clearly an expert in his field and he gives each patient his very best efforts. I am completely confident that he is going to help me recover my lost physical abilities and get me back to enjoying golf and life again with fewer limitations and less pain. I am extremely pleased with Spooner and Nick and recommend him to anyone who needs physical therapy. In fact I have already passed out his contact information to several of my friends.
