Signed up for LA Fitness maybe about a year ago and during the sign up, I was told there was an option to visit other locations for an extra $10 a month, bringing my total monthly subscription fee to $30, which I didn't mind paying. However, at the time, I didn't have a set schedule to follow so I thought it a good idea. Now that I do have a schedule, I determined I no longer needed that option and went in to remove it. Sure enough, you can't. It apparently was NOT an 'option'. So I could either continue paying $30 a month or cancel my membership and re-sign up to get a lower monthly rate, but I'm sure that would mean paying initiation fees or other things I've already paid.
Honestly, it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever been told. Needless to say, I'm cancelling my membership and taking my business elsewhere.
Commenting on the gym itself - I work out in the mornings right when they open, and it's clear the closing staff doesn't bother putting up the weights or making sure things are in order. If you're looking for a 45lb dumbbell, you should probably check the area labeled 20lbs. Plates are always scattered across the gym. The only positive thing I can say is that the morning staff is relatively kind. Other than that, it's not worth the money. Gave LA Fitness a shot and they let me down. Very disappointed.
