I hate to write negative reviews, however after a month of calling and employees failing to return my calls and fix the problem, I have to warn potential customers about this location.
The reviews from other customers about them changing the contracts without customers knowing and refusing to refund charges are true. I renewed my "3-month" contract in the Fall thinking I was getting 24 sessions. I didn't use all of them as life got busy during the holidays, and a month ago called to use up the rest of my sessions only to learn that I had been charged every month for training on my card without my knowledge because the "contract changed" to month-to-month (without my knowledge) and they refused to refund me. Each time when I try to contact them it takes me calling them 10 times in a row for someone to even talk to me, and no one returns messages when they promise to. When I made a huge stink about it after finally getting ahold of someone (supposedly a "Regional Manager" who was the most demeaning and degrading person I've ever dealt with in my life, all he said was that no other customers had complained about this (FALSE - read these reviews) and it wasn't a problem until now...ummm HELLOO I didn't know about it until it was brought to my attention, I don't manually look at every single charge on my card every month.
I've left messages for the General Manager Angie, employees have left messages for their "managers" to call me back, but nothing.
BUT WAIT.. That isn't the worst part!
I canceled my membership and training and finally had to contact my credit card company to dispute it, which they can only dispute back 3 months. All charges from "mountainside" were blocked on my card. Then two weeks later I see a statement from something similar to "mountainside" and called my CC company to learn that mountainside changed their processing name so that it wouldn't be blocked on my card and they MANUALLY entered my card number into their system - something EXTREMELY ILLEGAL and incredibly unprofessional. I am absolutely appalled at the bad business practices that this location has and they are a liability to the entirety of Mountainside Fitness as a whole.
I was screwed out of over $2,000 that they refuse to acknowledge - beware of this location, people.
