I'm not a big google review person but I am so frustrated with this gym. We moved here about a month ago and I was trying out a few different gyms around me. I did their week long free pass but decided on a different gym. They WILL NOT STOP CALLING ME. I have talked to them on the phone three times telling them I joined another gym and to please stop calling. I get a call every other day and emails daily asking me to join. There is no unsubscribe button on the emails. I didn't end up joining their gym because the kids club was chaotic (the girls in there told me the only time it's not super busy is from 1-3) It was also pretty crowded the times I could go (except for the cardio area which was empty every time)
I love Mountainside Fitness! I am an instructor and teach at several other gyms, but from an "inside" look I can tell you we have so many meetings, so many important trainings, managers are always on top so that you, as the member, have the best group fitness experience! as a member my kids love the child' care; they are always begging to go! this location has a rock climbing wall, which is truly so cool (and you don't have to pay extra for your kids to do it!!). The bouncy house is always fun too, and of course everyone is nice and caring. I teach yoga and love each member like a friend, a family member. I guarantee you if you love yoga you will love practicing with us!!!
Not all locations have the same stuff for the kids club. So please check prior to going. It does have a movie theater (most), games, and the bouncy house. Also very recently a little place where kids can shoot the ball (Queen Creek has a full on half court for them!!).
Daycare worker was holding my 4 month old when she decided to scream her head off at another child who was standing close by. Immediately my son began crying because he was scared of her screaming into his sensitive ears. She Frightened my baby so badly that he was traumatized and I never brought him back. Till this day I feel guilty for leaving him in her abusive care. Also some of the daycare workers roll their eyes and show constant attitude, and seem to hate their jobs. The stress is seen all over their faces....
Overall the gym is nice but the pull up machine has been broken for over 2 months. When I ask about it being fixed they keep saying "soon". Lastly, the older man who works here has SUCH A BAD ATTITUDE. I asked him a question and without even looking up from his computer screen he responded, "not my job, ask a trainer". I couldn't believe it. They are rude and clearly don't work together as a team.

I don't know if they wipe down their machines and weights properly or not, the last two times I've gone there I've gotten sick the next day.

Love the classes, especially Amy Larkin, she's the only reason I'm there and have been loyal over 7 years!! But they need more than one bathroom in day care part!! How do you expect 50 kids that are all baby to potty training age to use one bathroom?!

The staff, and customers, are welcoming and helpful. Love this gym.
I hate to write negative reviews, however after a month of calling and employees failing to return my calls and fix the problem, I have to warn potential customers about this location.
The reviews from other customers about them changing the contracts without customers knowing and refusing to refund charges are true. I renewed my "3-month" contract in the Fall thinking I was getting 24 sessions. I didn't use all of them as life got busy during the holidays, and a month ago called to use up the rest of my sessions only to learn that I had been charged every month for training on my card without my knowledge because the "contract changed" to month-to-month (without my knowledge) and they refused to refund me. Each time when I try to contact them it takes me calling them 10 times in a row for someone to even talk to me, and no one returns messages when they promise to. When I made a huge stink about it after finally getting ahold of someone (supposedly a "Regional Manager" who was the most demeaning and degrading person I've ever dealt with in my life, all he said was that no other customers had complained about this (FALSE - read these reviews) and it wasn't a problem until now...ummm HELLOO I didn't know about it until it was brought to my attention, I don't manually look at every single charge on my card every month.
I've left messages for the General Manager Angie, employees have left messages for their "managers" to call me back, but nothing.
BUT WAIT.. That isn't the worst part!
I canceled my membership and training and finally had to contact my credit card company to dispute it, which they can only dispute back 3 months. All charges from "mountainside" were blocked on my card. Then two weeks later I see a statement from something similar to "mountainside" and called my CC company to learn that mountainside changed their processing name so that it wouldn't be blocked on my card and they MANUALLY entered my card number into their system - something EXTREMELY ILLEGAL and incredibly unprofessional. I am absolutely appalled at the bad business practices that this location has and they are a liability to the entirety of Mountainside Fitness as a whole.
I was screwed out of over $2,000 that they refuse to acknowledge - beware of this location, people.
Love this gym! Clean, well maintained, great locker rooms, helpful staff. What more could you want!
If you have served they offer a military discount . Overall great gym. Glad I made the switch from LA.
I parked my car on the second floor, and my window was bashed out, and my wallet was stolen. BE AWARE OF CRIME! Invest in security cameras.

Friendly staff and clean facility. Customer service is a big deal here. I know the price will initially put people off in comparison to other gyms. I will go on the record as saying it's worth the extra coin. Mountainside Fitness......well done. You're selling quality. Consider making tanning a bigger part of your model though by getting additional tanning beds (or at least upgrade the one you've got). You wont regret getting a membership at Mountainside.

I finally cancelled my membership and will saved $100 joining a difference gym.
First time in the gym, understanding it's a Sunday, however it was very very calm, not to many people during the busy hour, unlike some gyms. I enjoyed my workout and the ammenties, are amazing. Been a part of many gyms, and so far this has been the most legitness.
Great gym! Love the free wifi, and the fact that I never have to wait for my machine of choice. The ladies locker room is always clean, and I love the towel service so I don't have to carry a wet towel in my gym bag.

This is a clean place and with really good equipment were you can have a good workout
