Been a member for a couple years. Its a good full size gym with a really good local crowd. Funny enough, I just thought about posting a review because the guy with the 1 star review below me (Tim) was screaming in the lobby about how horrible his review would be as the cops helped him on his way. (I don't think this gentlemen wants the numerous recordings from members out. Thank you OVPD!) I like my trainer and the gym's affordable.

This place is pretty gross they never clean all their equipment is always broken the steam Room is broke in the pool is broke in but they still advertise like it works when I ask them when they were going to fix the steam Room they laughed at me and told me if I don't like it I can leave and they were rude about it his name was Joe then director of personal training he laughed at me and then when I started bringing up false advertising claims of me going to a lawyer they keep to me out and on the way out he called me fat I know I have weight problems that's why I'm Going to the gym so be careful when you go in there and ask these people any questions because they will kick you out and call you fat When I got upset Joe the personal training director Got very frightened and had to call the police on me. N before the police got there he told me that he would kill me So I called the corporate office and think give me my money back But the experience I had there was pretty awful and pretty discriminating I've never been discriminated against because of my weight in a gym ever Why would you work in a gym and call your members fat?

I've been going to the Platinum Fitness on Ina and Oracle for around three years now and they have been super shady and rude. They don't keep staff I don't think even one person still works there from when I started. When I wanted to switch the type of membership I had they told me they had to completely close and reopen my account and they needed to put it under another name so my account isn't even under my real name. That's how Shady they are. Come to find out later the person who open my account just wanted credit for opening the account. then one month they charge my account twice I spent two weeks trying to get the money back fighting with people when person would say they saw the charge and the next person would say they didn't finally they addressed it when I showed them my whole bank account and all the months I've been charged and how many times so I finally got my money back but in doing that they canceled my guest pass. So then today I'm trying to set my guest pass back up and one person was finally nice with me and the other person comes out and talks about me like I'm not even there saying that they didn't need to give me the money back and they have documentation on why. I told him if that was the case then why didn't anybody tell me that when I was asking for the money back nobody could explain it and his boss decided to give me the refund yet now they have this documentation that will I wasn't entitled to my refund. When all I was trying to do is set up membership again. They're lucky that I didn't just cancel my membership altogether. They've been very shady and rude.

I don't usually submit reviews to any place because well honestly, I'm lazy. But I had to share my experience with this gym. I was born in Tucson but have not lived there since 2012. Early August I surprised my mom for her birthday and my boyfriend and I flew into town. We were going to the gym everyday in our current residence in Idaho and wanted to maintain that good habit. We checked out a couple of gyms closer to my mom's house and although these gyms claimed to only cost $10 a month they wanted $50 up front per person. Other places wanted between 15 to $20 a day. After some frustration and beginning to just accept the fact that a gym during our week was not going to be possible Platinum Fitness became our Saving Grace. I believe the gentlemen that helped us were Wyatt and Scott. They were so accommodating and very friendly. They didn't try to push us to sign , we're very understanding of our situation, and they gave us a tour of the gym on the spot. Both my boyfriend and I were able to enjoy the gym with a free week pass. The gym is huge and has a lot to offer. Thank you Platinum Fitness for hooking us up, we're missing you in Idaho.

Love the personal attention and friendliness of the staff here! Great classes and the child activity center teachers are wonderful. My son loves coming to play here while I work out.

Let's get something straight about this gym: this is a place to make yourself better. Here is where you can learn about how your diet impacts your body and learn about different supplements and make a guided decision about what you want to use. You build conditioning and strength here, and that takes work.

Evidence of that work is all over the gym- some of the equipment shows wear but that's because it's getting used...it remains in safe, working condition. Sometimes you can't find the plate you need, but that's because there's a lot of people here with a similar mission as you. There is chalk dust all over the deadlift pad, and sometimes the squat racks and benches. Wash your hands, you'll be fine.

If you are looking for a sterile environment to take photos for your Instagram, LA Fitness is just up the road, this ain't the place for that. If you want an environment to put your headphones on and get some hard work done...welcome, ask me if you need a spot.

In regards to the customer service, they get one star. When we first signed up (we have never been members of a gym before) we got roped into buying personal trainer sessions. We told them we were poor multiple times and couldnt afford it. They convinced us to set up a post-date for $100 (the first two sessions) on my boyfriends card. They then proceeded to charge MY debit card $600 for the entire PT list of sessions. Finally got that refunded. Now I am trying to cancel bec I cant afford it and dont have the time to go anymore because of work. They charged me again and again overdrafted my bank account. I called and they told me they werent refunding my money and pretty much that they dont care and he spent the time instead of trying to diffuse the situation ad de-escalate it and calm me down, he decides to say "im trying to be patient with you" while i was being nice, which of course set me off and then continued to talk down to me like im somehow below him which made me consistently more angry before he finally gave up and hung up on me because he cant handle talking to irate customers. Nobody EVER told us, even when i went in to cancel my membership that they would be charging me for an ADDITIONAL 30 days and that I could still use the gym during that time. And somehow their "manager" thinks this is MY Fault that their employees don't know anything and dont tell anyone anything. This gym has no concept of good customer service or how to handle issues. Not worth the money. Not worth the hassle. If I ever join a gym again after this, it'll be somewhere that has way more credibility, stability and actually has a clue what they're doing. I knew meatheads were brainless, but I had no idea HOW brainless until I tried dealing with them. They don't even know their managers names or titles.

Luis, one of several very accomplished and considerate personal trainers at Oracle/Ina is SUPERIOR. He is well-educated, kind, a "mind-reader", and a gentleman. Consistently, he delivers the best personal training experience and he GETS RESULTS. I have the great fortune of not only having my only child train with him, but also I bear witness to his training of others, his personal workouts, and his exemplary professional demeanor. Daily, this man lives his word: honesty, leadership, and excellence. Ladies (and gents), if you want a dedicated, sincere, SMART dude to help you reach your goals, get this guy FAST! He is in high demand, but always gives me the impression that he has all of the time in the world for me and my family. Feel free to PM me and let me BRAG BRAG BRAG about this outstanding man. Way to go Platinum. Way to go Tucson. We have a winner.

The internet has been out for days... 3 days in a row I brought it to the attention of the staff-nothing changed. I then spoke with the club manager, what a joke... He was clearly disinterested with my complaint and even walked away from me after making the statement the club internet was working on his phone.. really?! He never bothered to follow up with me. This is how you manage? This is how you take care of your members?? I have often found the staff lacks basic customer service skills. For as often as they change club staff and managers it would be nice if they could find someone that actually cares about the member after they've signed up... rude!

Do NOT go to this gym. ANY other fitness center within the Tucson area is a superior option. I chose to start this gym because I was moving out of the area within a few months and wanted a no-commitment option. When I signed up, they told me they were offering a discounted monthly fee of only $25 and a no-commitment contract. Two months later, they began charging me $60 with no notification of the up-charge. When I tried to call and cancel my membership, not a single member of their staff had any clue what the cancellation policy was. Every time I called, I talked to a different staff member who had a different idea of the cancellation policy. It took over a month to get a hold of someone who actually knew the procedure. When I finally got a hold of her, she told me they had me signed up for TWO SEPARATE memberships within their system that they were trying to charge me close out fees for. Through all this, they still continued to charge me for services that I was not receiving. This is simply a poorly-run business with incompetent staff and shady business practices. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

Wanted to upgrade my membership to include classes - costs $5 more per month. Charged and paid a $10 "upgrade fee" to change that. Eye roll. Whatever.

Decided class times weren't convenient for me and wanted to downgrade. Was told to downgrade would be a $39 "downgrade fee". What?! No one told me that when I was upgrading, otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded. What a scam! If customer loyalty meant anything to platinum they'd do away with this fee or at least make it the same as the upgrade fee of $10. It's one thing to say customers matter, but it's in their actions that the true feelings are revealed - Platinum is SHADY.

Came in to begrudgingly pay the downgrade fee on a Wednesday at 8 pm. Conveniently, no one was on shift who could process the downgrade!!! So now I have to find time to pay this fee when certain employees are around??

I'll be canceling my membership once I find somewhere else to go. At least other places aren't shady about their fees.

As a guest, I am always treated with respect here. The facility is great and has everything I am looking for in a gym. The staff is extremely friendly and I am welcomed with a smile every time. The atmosphere is inviting and welcoming. Lauren, who works at the front desk, is one of the friendliest people I have every encountered. I would recommend this gym to everyone!

I just signed up last month and Selena was great! She was super nice and awesome to talk to and gave me a super detailed tour and also let me know when it is the busiest and all the classes they have to offer. The gym exceeded my expectations and has a lot more amenities than anticipated with a jacuzzi, sauna and a movie theatre room, it was better way better than i imagined!

I work out at platinum. I love my trainer, Jen. She is great. She also does the cycle class. I hope to get good enough to keep up. She is very supportive and knows her stuff. I love to use the women's locker room spa, steam room, and sauna. I've been going for several years. I noticed they have upgraded the weights and moved around some of the equipment to accommodate the new system.

Having been a member for 27 years I have seen the gym go through many changes. Management, classes, and the overall atmosphere of the facility has shown great improvement. I really enjoy the LesMills workouts, the instructors, and the other friendly staff of the gym. The front desk staff always greet me with a smile and leave me with a "have a good day!". Jake always listens to any concerns or recommendations that members have. Classes are challenging and I know I am getting the best workout. I also enjoy Linda's Studio Fit classes; they are challenging and she accommodates to each member's physical capabilities. They are always working to better the gym to be the best facility for members and guests.

Been a member of this gym since 2009. It's easy to take fitness and working out and serious or as casual as you want at this gym. A mix of set machines in groups of common lifts and enough free weights and area to do dynamic lifts as well. If you had a bad experience with other gyms, give this one a try. The training staff can help with questions you have and will work with all different levels of ability.
