Nice place for exercise. But Little crowded at the peak hours.

It is a great gym for most people! It is pricey if you aren't a student, but is a great facility. Sometimes the student employees can be rude but they don't receive as much training as they should sure to how much turnover they have, so it is to be expected.

I love the Auburn University rec center. It is a state-of-the-art place that has tons of activities and machines for Fitness purposes

Great gym and it's always kept clean by the custodians. Staff are usually very nice too. Just don't be that guy who thinks it's cool to drop dumbbells and slam down weights while doing deadlifts or something. No one is impressed, especially not the girls you're trying to do that in front of. It's a nice gym with expensive equipment, so respect it and those around you. I say this because every time a new semester starts, you always have the "tough kids" coming in.

I went to the Auburn Outdoors Department and rented 4 wetsuits. They threw them at me and told me I would be held responsible for any damages. They assumed they were in pristine condition and only looked at them upon return where they decided to charge me for already existing damages. The customer service was non-existent in the fact that the same person checked me in and out, and she said she believed me that I didn't even use the piece of gear I rented, but charged me anyway rather than taking any responsibility. Watch out! CHECK THE EQUIPMENT THOROUGHLY BEFORE RENTING ANYTHING

One of the nicest recreation centers ever, especially anywhere close. Has the largest indoor walking track in the nation, resort style pool, rock climbing wall, basketball, racquetball, every possible workout equipment, and more.

This place is perfect. Staff is always nice and the cleaners keep it looking amazing throughout the day, regardless of how many people are there. Plenty of equipment and racks unless you go when it's busy. It gets very crowded during peak hours so I'd suggest that you avoid those times (4-6PM on weekdays / 2-5PM on weekends). There are two main places to lift - the entire first / entrance floor and a small area next to the track on the second floor. The only difference is that it smells like ass on the first floor and not like ass on the second floor because the first floor is a sausage fest and the second floor is usually filled with kickass-not-smell-like-ass women. If you're some dude that smells like ass and comes to the second floor, I hate you and the girls probably want to kill you. Please, let's keep the second floor area ass-smell free. Thanks. Also, for my fellow Asian homies out there, please come and lift. It's always just me and a bunch of (no offense, just sayin') white kids. We need to represent.

One of the best fitness centers I've ever seen. Tons of equipment all over the gym. Plenty of amenities and sporting activities both inside and out. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Facility is clean and well organized. Home-run on this one.

Definitely one of the best collegiate recreation centers in the country.

There's plenty of nice equipment.. if you like going early in the morning or late at night. Otherwise, it's packed. Yesterday I could have went and got a gym membership somewhere else in the time it took me to wait on a squat rack. Also, the camaraderie just isn't the same as a small gym. Too many frat guys there to pump up their arms and stare at girls. Also, the hours are always changing. I've drove down there on three different occasions to find out they're closed. Not to mention there's no parking from 7am to 5pm during weekdays, and even if you have C zone parking, there's one little lot a few minutes walk away. But hey, save twenty bucks, right? It's free! (except for the fact you pay an $800+ student services fee every semester)

The rec offers a wide variety of brand new equipment that is cleaned constantly while the facility is open. Everyone here is really friendly and helpful, but it is often crowded and it can be distracting if you're really trying to focus. It is also not friendly to powerlifters as there aren't really places to deadlift anymore after they shifted around all the machines. If you want a casual social outing and a workout, this is the place for you. If you want to grind and be focused and avoid crowds, this is not the best place for you.

Best gym I have ever been so far. Good facility. You can find everything you want here.

Good gym. I have been going for the past two years while I have been in Medical school here in Auburn. It is very spacious and clean (too clean?). There is a TON of options for cardio, and the track is nice...even though I have only used it a few times. I usually go early in the morning to get out before 8:00, and I was sometimes 1 of 10-15 people. Gets overly crowded after around 4, and is basically useless if you want to lift weights.

Biggest problem? 90% of the people here (typical college students) have TERRIBLE form and try to lift heavy weights. This happens at every gym, one of the big problems at the Rec is that there are a TON of personal trainers helping people out, and I have often seen many of them training people to use bad form. Not sure who they are accredited with...

Anyways, great clean gym. Not worth the insanely high price if you aren't a student though.

I always went to Tiger Iron to lift but honestly if you're not doing snatches, the Rec is much better in every way. It's always very clean, the staff is cool, and as long as you don't go during peak hours, you'll have no problems getting through your workouts. There are plenty of weights, racks, benches, cardio machines, etc. I appreciate the staff too because they all seem to actually be doing their jobs at all times and they always attempt to help or get someone else to help if you have a question. Don't be afraid to go here if you love doing free weights. Save yourself the $20+ at other gyms because you can do all of them here (besides snatches - no platforms to drop the weights on for those). 5/5
