I've used the upstairs boxing gym. Great experience and everyone is so helpful to new folks wanting to join the sport.
Amazing gym. Coach Bixler is the man. This place is perfect for strength athletes. They have pretty much every piece of strongman, powerlifting equipment there is.
Very old school gym beautiful trainers they will help on all aspects of the game of boxing
I'm not sure what Mitchell Douglas is talking about. I've been a client of Dave's for 2 years, 4 months and I intend on staying a client for many years to come. And, I have seen the same people over and over the whole time I've been there. This is the longest I've EVER stayed at a gym and it's all because of Dave. I have enjoyed working with Dave tremendously and consider him a good friend. I am amazed daily at how strong I am now, compared to before I started, and at how great I look. When I toured the gym with Dave back in 2016 I said I wanted to lose 20 pounds. He asked, "do you want to lose weight or do you want to look good?" I wanted to look good. And, boy howdy, do I! And, I'm still the same weight. It's just that now it's muscle weight and not fat.
Aside from the training, the gym is unique and well equipped. You're not going to find Fat Bells, or body tempering, or a strongman room at any other gym in the area. Not to mention the help and advice with diet and nutrition he provides his training clients.
I would, have and will continue to recommend Universal Athletics and Dave to my friend's and family.
Be careful at this gym. Owner is great a first, give it a few months and you'll realize why none of the customers stay that long.
A great gym if you want to achieve your fitness goals. Dave takes a genuine interest in helping you through diet plans and challenging workouts. It may not look nor behave like your typical box gym but the results you'll get make up for first impressions. I will not miss the 20 lbs I've lost since starting with Dave but I will definitely miss Dave and his gym. Thank you!

Definitely found a home in Universal Athletics. Very welcoming and VERY hardcore. This is the place to be if you want to get in shape, learn about your body and lifting, or want to train to compete. All angles are covered....great job UA!

To most this is a hole in the wall gym. It's not your typical gym like your franchise gym. It doesn't smell like mothers house when you walk in. However out of all the gyms I have been to I must say this is the only gym where everyone here is treated like family. They push you till your limits are broken then pick you up. They never let you down. You don't have to reach your goals alone, because at this gym everyone is here for purpose and reason beyond that of a beach body and bikini season. This has become my home away from home, and everyone here is treated like family. Welcome to Universal Athletics. Thank you David Barth for having such a place..
Coming from LA Fitness this gym is a breath of fresh air. I've searched long and hard for a real lifting gym and I've finally found my home. The minute I walked in I was greeted by other members who were so welcoming and warm....big they might have been....but some of the nicest people I've met at any gym here in the valley. I'm glad that I no longer have to watch grown men taking selfies for their IG accounts while I'm sweating with the iron. This is a serious gym for those serious about their workout. Definitely a no bullshit kinda gym.
I currently Train at Universal Athletics and Dave is my trainer. I thought I would never say it but I love going to the gym now! The staff is great and always willing to help out. Dave worked with my work schedule and prepared diet plans to achieve my goals. I also love the fact that it is open 24 hours and can go right in whenever I feel like it on my own time. If you're looking for a comfortable, hard working, and positive outgoing gym, Universal athletics is the place! :)
